Chapter 13
Eliza, who was serving them, couldn’t help but feel a bit upset.
Bethany hadn’t come back yet, and it seemed like Terrence and
Emery had completely forgotten her.
Eliza reminded Terrence, “Mr. McConnell, Mrs. McConnell hasn’t
come back yet. If she doesn’t come back tonight, it will be more
than 48 hours since she disappeared.”
Bethany wasn’t coming home or replying to messages.
Terrence had kindly invited her to go on a trip together, but she
ignored him.

Eliza got so scared and shut up.
The food on the table didn’t sit well with Terrence. He put down
his fork, got up, and headed into the bedroom.

Krista pushed the door open.
Terrence was standing in front of the floor–to–ceiling window,
smoking.
The smoke curled around him.
It gave his usually cool and elegant vibe a bit of a gloomy edge.
That mute Bethany had messed with his emotions a few times.
Krista scrunched up her eyebrows.
She took a quick look around the bedroom and was shocked to
see the big marriage registration photo on the wall.
She thought, “Terrence and Bethany got married without even taking wedding photos?

“Guess I’m overthinking it.
