Chapter 203
Terrence snorted, “If Kaylie can go back to her mother’s house,
why can’t she?”
Kimora instantly shut her mouth tight, it’s all because she talks
too much.
Jaydon looked embarrassed, “Kaylie’s family has people, but
Beth’s family has no one. What’s the point of her going back?”
Terrence’s voice was cold and deep, “Is anyone there, or is the
grave still empty?”
“Alright! Stop making noise, it’s getting late, let’s go.”
Randy put a stop to their father–son bickering. It was important
to go pay respects to their ancestors at the moment. Randy
didn’t have time to discuss Bethany’s situation with Terrence
yet.
The family set off for the cemetery.
At the grave of the McConnell family ancestors, everyone stood
solemnly, waiting for Randy to speak so they could pay their
Chapter203
Randy suddenly turned around and asked them, “Where are the
sacrificial items?”
The McConnell family members were all stunned.
Everyone looked at me, I looked at you, and it was as quiet as a
mouse.
Randy stomped his cane in anger, “Where’s the offering? Don’t
tell me the noble McConnell family came to visit our ancestors
without even preparing an offering!”
Ever since Bethany got married, it’s been Bethany who’s been
preparing the offerings, and no one else has bothered.
Jaydon hung his head and awkwardly said, “In the past, Beth
always took care of it, so I thought this year would be the same
and didn’t ask about it.”
Randy got so mad that he clutched his chest, and Evangeline
quickly went over to support him.
Kimora said unhappily, “Grandpa, don’t blame my dad either. In
the past, these things were all done by my sister–in–law. She
suddenly didn’t do it today and didn’t say a word. I think she
deliberately wanted us to lose face.”
Jaydon immediately agreed, “Yeah, if she didn’t come, she
should have let us know in advance. I wasn’t prepared at all. It’s
all Bethany’s fault, not mine.”
Randy was itching to whack Jaydon with a cane.
“How did I give birth to such a useless son like you!”
Emery looked up at Terrence and said, “Dad, how about we go
buy the offerings now?”
When Bethany used to prepare offerings, she would teach.
Emery that everything they have now is thanks to the hard
work of their ancestors. Honoring ancestors and remembering
them is a traditional virtue in our country, and it should be
passed down from generation to generation.
And the McConnell family would come to worship their
ancestors at every important festival. Emery, though young,
also understood the importance of this.
Because Bethany didn’t sort out the offerings, Terrence was a
bit annoyed, after all, today is a special day.
But when problems arise, getting angry won’t help. Terrence
knows this well. He said, “I’ll go prepare now.”
“Terrence.”
Chapter201
Then a familiar female voice came over.
Terrence and the rest of the McConnell family looked up, and
they saw Krista walking in the front, followed by many others
carrying all kinds of offerings.
“Krista.”
Emery saw her and was thrilled, he went straight to her.
Evangeline quickly grabbed Emery and said, “What are you up
to, you little rascal?”
Krista just smiled, not angry at all. She walked up to everyone
and called out to Randy, “Randy!”
Randy looked really bad.
Then he shouted to Jaydon, “Jaydon.“”
As for Jaydon, he awkwardly smiled and politely said, “Long
time no see.”
Krista had someone bring all the offerings and continued,
“Yeah, it’s been years since I came back. My dad asked me to
bring more offerings this Thanksgiving Day to visit my sister.”
Krista brought offerings that filled up the tombstone.
