Chapter 26
“Dummy, can you concentrate when you’re eating?”
Bethany put down her phone. When she just picked up her
fork, the phone rang again.
It was still Terrence.
Bethany hung up and turned off her phone.
Terrence heard the dial tone.
When he called Bethany again, a mechanical female voice came
from the phone. “Sorry, the number you dialed is not available.”

go out.
Emery’s crying came behind him.
“Krista, I don’t want you to leave.”
Terrence turned around.
Krista took her suitcase out of the bedroom, and Emery tightly
held her hand.

in a children’s papercutting competition, and I hope you can go
with me…
Emery shook Krista’s hand, pleading with tears.

been delayed for several days, and your great–grandfather is
urging me to go back. When I have time, I will definitely come
