Krista put her arm around Emery to protect him and said,

“Terrence, the kid is still young, don’t be so harsh. Emery was

left at the McConnell’s manor by you guys lately, and none of

you took care of him. He reached out to me, and I saw he was

really upset. I knew you guys were studying, so I picked him up

after school and brought him back. If my coming here is what’s

making your family so unhappy, I’ll leave right now. Just don’t

blame Emery for it.”

Krista gently wiped Emery’s tears and said to him, “Silly kid, be

good, don’t cry. You’re just a little kid, your mom and dad won’t

really be mad at you. I’ve got something to do, I’ll go now. Be

good at home, okay?”

“Krista, could you not leave?”

Kids were just like that. They thought if there was someone else

at home, mom and dad wouldn’t scold them in front of others.
