Chapter481
Irvin said carefully, “You found your birth family?”
“Yeah.”
It was really over.
The adopted daughter grew up, married a rich man, and always
had a rich man around her, but he didn’t get to enjoy any of it
later.
“I couldn’t say.”
“Why couldn’t you say? Did Terrence promise you guys?”
Other than this, Bethany couldn’t think of any other reasons
she couldn’t talk about.
Irvin knew he couldn’t hide it, so he said, “He promised to give
me some money and let me go abroad after I got out.”
“Do you believe what he said?” Bethany sneered, “He just didn’t
want my background to get out, so he needed you. Now he
doesn’t need you anymore. Do you really think he’ll care about
you? You’re overthinking it.”
Chapter481
Irvin just meant he wanted money, and he would talk to
whoever paid him.
Bethany didn’t want to talk to him. As she left, she threw out a
line: “Just wait for Terrence to give you the money.”
Walking out of the prison, Kyson said to Bethany, “How about
we give him some money and let him tell us what happened
back then.”
“Don’t rush, if he didn’t want to talk, just let it go. Terrence
definitely wouldn’t bother with him anymore. When he came
to us again, we’d have the upper hand. It didn’t matter if it took a
day or two. Let’s go home first and see Grandpa.”
Irvin brought Bethany a lot of hurt when she was a kid, not just.
a little. The fatherly love she once longed for was just a dream.
It was all fake.
Irvin ditched her, definitely because he knew she wasn’t his real
daughter.
Maybe the adoptive mother’s jumping off the building had
something to do with Irvin too.
Just waited for Irvin to come to her again.
Chapter491
Kyson still wanted to go find Terrence, but the most important
thing right now was to get Bethany home first.
They arrived at the Duarte’s villa. Jameson was sitting in the
yard, enjoying the sun. When he saw Bethany, Jameson
beamed with joy, and even his wrinkles smoothed out.
“Beth, come sit by me.”
Bethany looked at the kind old man in front of her and couldn’t
help but remember the beginning, when she ran into trouble
trying to get a divorce. It was Grandpa who said firmly, “Other
lawyers don’t dare to take it, but our legal team at the Duarte
Group dares!”
Gave her the courage to get divorced.
“Beth, why didn’t you come over?”
Bethany stood there staring at Jameson. During this time, the
ones who helped her, besides Julio and Kyson, also included her
real grandpa.
After mom and grandma passed away, there were still other
family members in this world who missed her, and they
unknowingly gave her warmth.
