Chapter 6
Chapter 6
On his way, he remembered he hadn’t been home for days and
that he was kinda rude last night, so he had his secretary wait in
line for over half an hour at Felicity Bakery to buy Bethany’s
favorite croissants. Worried they would get cold and not taste as
good, he kept them warm in his jacket.
He had no idea what had been going on with her lately. The
house was neglected, her phone was off, and she was nowhere to
be found.
Terrence yanked his tie off in frustration, feeling uncomfortable
all over.
Knowing that women often shopped to cheer up when they
were down, he transferred 300 thousand dollars to Bethany
through his phone.
But then he thought it wasn’t enough, so he sent another 300
thousand.
He typed out a WhatsApp message and hit send.
After that, he took the croissants out of his jacket, went to the
kitchen, and put them on a plate.
Chapter 6
Terrence went to the bathroom to take a shower.
Once done, he stood at the sink and put on some shaving cream.
But the razor in his hand felt a bit dull.
This kind of thing never used to happen.
“Bethany!”
Realizing that Bethany wasn’t home, Terrence called out for
Eliza, all annoyed.
She hurried over.
With Bethany not around, there were so many things to do.
She wished Bethany would come back quickly.
Terrence, with his face covered in shaving cream, asked in a deep voice, “Where are the razor blades?”
“What?”
“I’m asking you, where are the razor blades?”
Eliza cast her eyes down and replied cautiously, “Mrs. McConnell usually prepares them herself. I… I’ll go look for them.”
