Chapter 81
In the early morning, Amelia received in full.”
Call from the real estate agent while drying her hair. “Okay, I’ll come to check the house at doon Les plante:
Landon appeared calm on the surface, but he was actually furious, his good mood from a good sleep completely gone. She wants to buy a house? is she planning to move out of my home? We aren’t even divorced yet, and she’s so eager?‘
Landon took a deep breath and texted Aaron. [Arrange a business trip for me. I need to go to Pinecrest before noon today.]
‘Why would Mr. Kingsley want to go
to
Pinecrest when he can’t even move?‘ Aaron wondered.
[Don’t tell Amelia for now. Just let her when I’m about to leave.] Landon added.
At that moment, Aaron suddenly understood. ‘Mr. Kingsley wants to reduce Mrs. Kingsley’s opportunities to interact with Patrick, huh? Hey, the slow in love Mr. Kingsley has finally realized that since he can’t go out to accompany Mrs. Kingsley nor give Patrick a chance.
Aaron cheerfully set about making the arrangements.
Unbeknownst to Amelia, she worked until noon and then prepared to meet the agent. “Aaron, I’m going out for a bit.”
“Mrs. Kingsley, our car is about to leave,” Aaron said.
“What?” Amelia was confused.
“Mr. Kingsley is going on a business trip. Didn’t you know?” Aaron asked.
Amelia was instantly speechless.
“Please get ready. We’ll leave in ten minutes,” Aaron said, suppressing a smile.
“This is too sudden. Why didn’t you tell
Ime in advance? I have an appointment with someone else,” Amelia complained, her good mood vanishing.
“Maybe Mr. Kingsley forgot to tell you. He has been stuttering lately. Don’t be upset.” Aaron tried to make an excuse for Landon.
Amelia sighed and replied, “Fine, let’s go.” She would just have to look at the house another time.
Ten minutes later, they set off for Pinecrest.
The nanny van looked low–key, but inside, it was
spacious enough to accommodate Landon’s wheelchair.
Amelia sat next to Landon and asked, “What’s this trip for?”
[Business.] Landon wrote an elegant word on paper with his left hand.
This was the first time Amelia had seen someone write so beautifully with their left hand. She was amazed. “You can’t be left–handed, can you?”
[No.] Landon wrote again.
Aaron chuckled and said, “Mr. Kingsley’s hands are equally agile. Whatever his right hand can do, his left can, too.”
“Impressive,” Amelia said, giving him a thumb up. She was thinking, ‘His both hemispheres were highly developed. No wonder he stands at the top of the social pyramid.‘
After receiving the compliment, Landon raised his chin proudly.
Aaron almost dropped his jaw at Landon’s expression. ‘When did the aloof Mr. Kingsley become so lively and stuck–up?”

“By the way, what’s our work task this time?” Amelia asked. They were already hallway Into the trip, and she still didn’t know the purpos
Landon gave Aaron a glance, and Aaron immediately said, “Mrs. Kingsley, we’re going to assess a piece of land in Pinecrest
“Alright.” Amelia blinked, thinking, ‘Is it worth it for Landon to invest in land in Pinecrest, a town extremely underdevelopedT
“Mrs. Kingsley, were you born in Pinecrest?” Aaron asked.
Amelia nodded, feeling sad. She lived in Pinecrest until she was three but had no memories of it. Even now, she didn’t know where her mother was
buried.
Walter and Debra used to live on Kea Lane.‘ Landon used his thoughts to communicate with Amelia as he did not want to write them down.
Amelia’s eyes lit up, and she excitedly asked, “Can we go to Kea Lane?”
“Kea Lane? That’s in the opposite direction of where we’re supposed to go.” Aaron didn’t dare make a decision on his own and looked to Landon for guidance.
Landon stared ahead, waiting for Amelia to plead with him.
Sure enough, Amelia took Landon’s hand and shook it white acting cute. “Landon, can I go to the Kea Lane? Maybe I can recover some childhood
memories.”
Amelia’s sweet, playful tone was hard for any man to resist.
Aaron rubbed his goosebumps and secretly observed Landon’s reaction.
Landon did not respond, his handsome face showing no expression.
Aaron couldn’t help but think, ‘Mr. Kingsley, this way, you are destined to be alone for life.’
Landon shot Aaron a glare.
Just then, the car arrived at a highway service
area, and Aaron quickly made an excuse to get out and buy water, hoping to avoid Landon’s wrath.
“Landon, please say yes, and I’ll listen to you from now on,” Amelia said, her hopeful gaze resembling that of a gentle fawn, capable of making Landon melt with just one look.
Landon felt a flutter in his heart, his lips unconsciously curvin
into a slight smile as he asked, ‘Does that include the matter of buying a house?‘
Amelia’s cheerful laugh froze on her face. A bold guess surfaced in her mind, ‘He wouldn’t want to stop me from buying a house, would he? But how does my buying a house concern him? Is he planning to reclaim all the wages he gives me once he recovers?‘
‘Having a house is nice, huh? If you don’t want to work, you can just lie around at home.‘ Landon conveyed with a slightly sarcastic tone.
Amelia furrowed her brow and, after a moment of careful consideration, asked cautiously, “Do you think my salary is too high?”
