PS: Neo is at peak of First Step rank. I think I wrote Second Step sometime ago. That was a typo.

Seeing’s Neo’s silence, Cultivator Bai Zhen spoke, "It seems you don’t know what a Heavenbreaker is? They are cultivators who are born in Cosmos of other Cultivator, and after crossing various trials, they manage to ascend beyond and arrive in the True World—here."
Neo frowned.
"You can recognize cultivators and Heavenbreakers from the fact that they all cultivate a Cosmos within themselves. And they all create a Path of their own, that follows one of the thirty-two Daos."
Neo suddenly froze.
Paths... were meant to be a subset of Daos?
Cultivator Bai Zhen either not realizing his thoughts, or ignoring them continue, "Of course, Cultivators and Heavenbreakers have some differences too.
"Some are minor differences like the fact that you might or might not know about proper cultivation methods depending on the fact the Cultivator responsible for your Cosmos introduced those methods in the Cosmos.
"However, this necessarily does not mean Heavenbreakers are weaker. Since you must’ve defeated or conquered the entire Cosmos to become strong enough to come to this World, that means your combat experience far outstrips a Cultivator of the same rank.
"Ah, this is only for lower Steps, okay? Higher Steps Cultivators focus on their Cosmos, so their combat experience would be same, if not higher, than most Heavenbreakers."
Throughout the explanation, Cultivator Bai Zhen had a smile, as if he was waiting for a specific reaction from Neo.
The First Step Cultivator was in pain.
But he dared not say anything after the earlier warning from Cultivator Bai Zhen.
Neo remained expressionless, hiding the thoughts in his mind and spoke, "Your worded your explanation in a way that says there are major differences between Cultivators and Heavenbreakers?"
"Yes. Major differences would depend upon how the race and tribes inside the Cosmos were designed by the Cultivator. For example, a Heavenbreaker can come from a race that speak through their thoughts. This makes them fundamentally different."
Cultivator Bai Zhen’s words make Neo realize something.
’According to what that child said, Cultivators gather Qi — World Energy — from the air.’
’But Ultris and I create our own World Energy.’
’This must be an inherent racial trait of all beings born in our Cosmos. Celestial Worthy made us in a way that if we become a Heavenbreaker, we can generate our own energy.’
It seemed like a good trait for all people of their Cosmos.
They wouldn’t need to depend on external sources.
But...
Why take away the power to absorb energy from the surroundings?
Celestial Worthy could’ve just left them with both methods: internal energy generation and external absorption.
If External energy absorption was allowed, there would be no need to have immense willpower in order to create World Energy.
This way a lot more Heavenbreaker could’ve been born.
’This is like Celestial Worthy didn’t want us to become Heavenbreakers (Cultivators).’
Neo realized the person who created them — their Creator God — might just not be negligent like he thought, but something far worse.
Neo clenched his fist and asked, "From the way you talk... it seems there are quite a few Cultivators and Heavenbreakers. Does this mean—"
"Yes, there is a standardized way of becoming a Cultivator and Heavenbreaker. We call these methods Cultivation methods," answered Cultivator Bai Zhen.
Neo clenched his fist.
’As I thought, there is a standardized way of becoming Heavenbreakers (Cultivator).’
Why had the Celestial Worthy not given them these methods?
Why leave this people to fight like a dog between themselves for resources?
’Maybe there was a reason, or maybe this guy is lying to me.’
Neo decided to be optimistic.
"Isn’t a Path supposed to be unique to each Heavenbreaker (Cultivator)? How can there be a standardized method to become one?"
"Hahaha. What about it? No matter the Path, they will still fall under one of the Daos. So we can just teach them to create and manifest their unique Path, depending on what Dao suits their life.
"Ah, Daos are like direction. North, South, West, those types of directions.
"So, no matter your Path, no matter where you walk, you would end up walking in a direction (Dao)," Cultivator Bai Zhen explains with a smile.
This...
Neo realized the truth.
All of the pain he had gone through to become a Heavenbreaker.
All of the pain he had gone through at hands of others because he was a Heavenbreaker.
It was...
"Meaningless," Cultivator Bai Zhen said with a smile. "Yes, it seems like you thought you were special having created your Path. But that’s only in your little Cosmos. Here, that is nothing special. Anyone with [Spiritual Roots] can become a Cultivator. So all your pain, all your suffering was meaningless."
Cultivator Bai Zhen’s smile was now as wide as his mouth.
He was waiting for ’that’ reaction.
Despair.
Oftentimes, to find a new technique or for enlightenment, Cultivators would remove all teachings from their Cosmos that would allow people to become Heavenbreakers.
This was to see what kind of cultivation techniques would be born from nothingness (when there is no previous guidance).
Here, Heavenbreakers needed to forge a Path on their own.
It was like traversing a path that no one had walked before.
Naturally, all Heavenbreakers who went through this were proud when they came out to the [True World].
They believed in their own experience.
Only to realize that all their hard work, all their suffering were meaningless.
That anyone could’ve become a Heavenbreaker if they were guided properly.
That they were not special.
Watching the reaction of these Heavenbreakers always made Cultivator Bai Zhen ecstatic.
That’s why...
He looked at Neo with anticipation.
"Meaningless," Neo muttered, making Cultivator Bai Zhen’s eyes shine.
However, the next words from Neo stunned Cultivator Bai Zhen.
"You said the word that was about to come up in my mind. As expected, you are reading my thoughts."
"...? Huh? Uh?"
A storm of thoughts and Consciousness was created within Neo’s mind, masking his true thoughts.
But that was not what surprised Cultivator Bai Zhen.
"You were expecting I was reading your thoughts? That... thought was a lie meant to probe me. No, why are you so calm? Do you not realize becoming a Heavenbreaker is nothing special. All your pain, all your suffering was meaningless."
"It’s not meaningless."
Neo snorts.
"I lived my life for myself. Everything I learned and went through made me what I am today.
"So, what if others can become a Heavenbreaker?
"I am not unique (me) because I’m a Heavenbreaker. I am me (unique) because I am Neo Hargraves (me)."
Cultivator Bai Zhen blinked.
Then he chuckled with disbelief.
"Your mind is tranquil. You are not lying to me. You truly believe that being a Heavenbreaker doesn’t define yourself. But being you is what define yourself. What a fearsome Dao Heart (Willpower)."
Cultivator Bai Zhen shook his head.
"Anyway, come with me. I came here because the Heavens (Fate) guided me to an auspicious location. It must have been to meet a talented seed like you. If you come with me to the Heavenly Sect, we can help you grow to your true protentional."
"Senior! He killed—"
Cultivator Bai Zhen didn’t look back, but the head rolled off from the shoulders of the First Step Cultivator, who had just spoken.
"I told you to remain silent," Cultivator Bai Zhen said with a chilling voice.
His gaze remained fixed at Neo and he asked with a smile, "So, shall we leave for the Heavenly Sect now? I promise it will be a place you would like."
Neo looked at him, then around the place.
The people of the village were struck with terrible fear.
Three Cultivators — no, just one. Neo had erased the other two from existence. Though Cultivator Bai Zhen seemed be able to remember them — had died in front of their eyes.
Cultivators were akin to gods for them.
Their death made no sense to them, and filled with endless terror.
Finally, Neo looked back at Cultivator Bai Zhen.
"You don’t care about the Cultivators I killed?"
"I don’t. Our world is ’strong eat the weak’. It is their fault they were too weak to protect themselves."
