If she refused, she'd lose all say in the matter—when to meet, where, and how. At least if she agreed, she'd retain some control. Besides, Parker wasn't that kind of person.
So Emilia nodded.
Standing nearby, Tyler saw her silent agreement and felt even more certain of his suspicions. Still, he kept his expression carefully neutral in front of Parker, lowering his gaze and saying nothing.
After a few more pleasantries, their visit to the old manor drew to a close.
Once outside Lunar Manor, Emilia walked over to her own car. She opened the door, buckled her seatbelt, started the engine, and drove off in one smooth motion—never once glancing back at Tyler.
Tyler watched as Emilia's car disappeared down the drive. Without a word, he followed in his own vehicle. At the next intersection, he turned off in the opposite direction, and the two cars went their separate ways.
Emilia swung by to pick up Bella and dropped her off at school. Not long after, her phone rang—Joyce's name flashed on the screen.
"Emily, can you come over? We're trying to recover the data from Odette's phone!" Joyce's voice was buzzing with excitement.
After the second episode of *Voice of the Divine* had aired, Joyce had told Emilia she'd spotted someone secretly recording at the live event. They'd met up that night, and to her surprise, the stranger wanted to blow the whistle but had never found solid evidence.
Joyce had met with them several times since. Eventually, trust was built, and the two compared what they'd gathered.
The data expert Felix had recommended to Joyce was currently abroad, making it impossible to ship the phone out for analysis.
Emilia shook her head. No need. These were people who'd risked much to help her; trust was the foundation of any team.
She stepped inside and closed the door behind her. As Seven approached, Emilia offered a slight bow and extended her right hand.
"Hi, I'm Serena," she said, using her alias.
Seven's eyes went wide—he looked as if he might scream, but quickly slapped a hand over his mouth.
After a stunned three seconds, he blurted out, "You… you're Emilia!"
