Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 221

He urged the driver to go faster, not noticing the other car that brushed past his as they sped down the road.

Inside the apartment complex.

Emilia and her team had combed through a mountain of documents, finally confirming everything they needed. Only then did the tension in the room ease a little.

Emilia glanced at the clock—it was already 3 a.m.

“Thanks for all your hard work,” she said sincerely.

“Oh, it’s nothing,” Seven replied with a grin. “Just doing my job.”

He wasn’t exactly working for free. Christian, impressed by his skills, had already recruited him to Donovan Entertainment with an impressive salary. For now, though, things were kept under wraps while Emilia was in this sensitive phase. When the time was right, the others would find out.

Joyce didn’t bother pretending to be modest. She hugged her brand-new Prada bag to her chest, beaming. “If a designer purse is the bribe, I’m happy to help. It’s only fair.”

But Emilia knew there was a world of difference between going through the motions and truly putting your heart into something. The only reason they worked so hard was for her.

Emilia wasn’t the type for long speeches. She simply made a mental note to treasure these friends and repay their kindness in her own way.

“So, Emily, what’s your next move?” Joyce asked, stifling a yawn.

Seven listened in while scrolling through late-night snack options on his phone.

“Vivienne’s attacking us. So, I plan to turn Vivienne against herself,” Emilia said, her fingers flying across the keyboard.

Besides, any final decision would require a meeting. With their evidence submitted, they could clarify their position and request a deadline for the investigation before the live finale.

“The higher-ups care about proof, so this should work,” Emilia concluded.

“If it really comes down to it, I’ll just go public with my real identity,” she said as she hit send on her email to Christian. “But I doubt it’ll get that far.”

Donovan Entertainment had their own team handling communications with the authorities. For now, all the stalling tactics were in place.

All that remained was to get that final document.

The divorce papers from Tyler.
