Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 264

Tyler suddenly remembered that he'd promised to have dinner with Vivienne at noon.

He quickly texted back, “I’ll be there a bit later—I’m having dinner with Vivienne first.”

It didn’t take long for Owen to respond: “Alright, alright, your precious Vivienne comes first, I get it! I’ve booked a private room at Prism Ivy House. First day of freedom—let’s celebrate!”

“Sounds good,” Tyler replied.

But after putting his phone down, a different thought crept into his mind.

It was the first day after the divorce—what was Emilia doing right now?

Tyler checked the time. At this hour, Emilia was probably picking Bella up from school. After that, she’d bring Bella back to her rented apartment and make her some dinner.

What would they eat? Maybe beef stew with rice, shaped into that silly puppy Bella liked so much.

Bella really did love that cartoon dog.

Without thinking, Tyler pressed the intercom. Secretary Jensen came in, professional as ever.

“Mr. Erickson,” Jensen said respectfully.

“Look into the collaboration terms with Sanrio. Buy some of their merchandise for research,” Tyler said, tapping his finger on the desk, voice steady.

Jensen opened his mouth to say something, but thought better of it and simply answered, “Of course.”

“And when you’ve got it all sorted, send the merchandise to the kindergarten where Bella goes,” Tyler added. “Understand?”

“Yes, Mr. Erickson. Putting the products to good use—giving them to all the kids at the kindergarten is the best approach,” Jensen replied.

Tyler finally nodded.

Bella would never accept a gift from him directly, so this was the only way he could give her something now.

Even so, Tyler felt a little dazed by how things had turned out.

Just like that, the marriage was over.

He’d always imagined Emilia would cry, make a scene, maybe even refuse to sign the papers—he pictured arguments, maybe even a few messy attempts at reconciliation before things ended.

Felix, standing nearby, watched his sister with a pained expression, shaking his head.

“Emily! You made it!” Joyce spotted her and immediately stopped, grinning from ear to ear as she hurried over. She even nudged a few handsome strangers in Emilia’s direction.

“Here you go, the cute guys you ordered,” Joyce teased with a wink.

Emilia blinked, caught completely off guard.

On the other side of the room, Christian looked just as exasperated.

“Joyce—” Emilia started, but Joyce pinched her arm before she could finish.

“I thought my brother wouldn’t show,” Joyce whispered hurriedly. “He was supposed to be on the night shift, but he swapped with a coworker—please, help me out here, or he’ll kill me!”

“Joyce!” Felix looked like he was about to pop a vein. “You’re holding a microphone, you know—lowering your voice doesn’t make me deaf!”

“Oh no, Emily, I’m doomed!” Joyce wailed dramatically.
