Tyler stiffened, his eyes narrowing with a dangerous glint as he shot Theodore Glenn a cold, warning look.
“Yeah, come on, Tyler, stop him!” George called, jogging up behind them.
Ella trailed after, catching up just as the tension thickened.
Theodore Glenn, ever the picture of calm sophistication, simply smiled—though there was an unmistakable edge to it this time. “Whatever you want to say to her, you can say it here,” he told Tyler, still smiling. “There’s no need to intimidate her.”
Tyler hesitated, shifting his gaze from Theodore’s face to Emilia, a silent question in his eyes.
“Don’t get the wrong idea about me and her,” Theodore said plainly. “I just admire Serena, that’s all.”
“And me!” George chimed in, stepping forward. “Everyone knows I’m a huge fan—I’ve never kept it a secret!”
Ella nodded in agreement.
The tension in the room was palpable, the air charged and volatile.
Just then—
“Tyler, you all…” Vivienne started to speak, her voice trembling, desperate to intervene.
“Just stop talking!” Christian snapped, unable to hide his frustration. “I’ve never met anyone as two-faced as you!”
“Christian!” Tyler cut him off sharply, his brow furrowing in warning.
“What?!” Christian shot back, his anger flaring. “You’d really divorce Emilia for someone like this? For her—?”
“It’s my fault,” Vivienne said quickly, tears streaming down her face. “I’m the one to blame. I didn’t know Serena was—”
“You—!” Christian fumed, fists clenched, but there was nothing he could do. He could only stew in his frustration.
“If you’re going to talk, just say what you mean. No need for the waterworks,” Ella interjected coolly. “Mr. Erickson, didn’t you have something to discuss with Emilia? Good, let’s all be witnesses. That way, no one gets hurt.”
It all happened in less than a minute—a sudden, explosive argument that drew everyone’s attention.
Christian caught her meaning immediately. “There’s some water in the lounge. Let’s get you out of here.”
Emilia nodded.
It wasn’t until they’d almost reached the stairs, nearly out of sight and into the glare of the cameras, that Tyler finally turned around, his eyes lingering on Emilia’s slender silhouette.
“Emily,” he called out one more time.
But Emilia didn’t look back. Supported by Cindy, her costume trailing behind her, she disappeared around the corner.
Now, only the Glenn family and Tyler and Vivienne remained.
George and Ella were already chatting about what to eat later, Theodore Glenn listening as always, the three of them heading out together, their voices fading.
Tyler, meanwhile, stood off to the side, eyes lowered, staring at the spot where Emilia had just stood. A faint trace of plaster dust from her costume lingered on the floor.
Vivienne noticed all of it. She was practically grinding her teeth in frustration, but she kept her expression neutral, feigning surprise. “I just can’t believe Serena was Emilia all along.”
