Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 297

Ten minutes earlier.

Vivienne wept as she clung to Tyler, her voice shaky as she gave Jack the order to have the team launch a counteroffensive.

She’d asked Tyler all those desperate questions, but in the end, he still hadn’t given her a real answer.

All he did was gently wipe her tears away and mutter, “I’ll talk to her.”

It sounded like so many of his old promises, but this time, something was different.

Because when she later tried to use resources from the Erickson Group to clear her name, Secretary Jensen turned her down flat. Vivienne didn’t dare press the issue any further.

It was painfully clear to her—Tyler’s hesitation and sorrow stemmed from knowing Emilia’s true identity as Serena.

She wanted to say something more, but before she could, Tyler had already picked up Parker’s call.

And so she stayed silent.

Elsewhere.

Tyler had left the event early. Now he sat in the back seat of the Bentley, staring out the window as Secretary Jensen sped toward Lunar Manor.

The landscape whirled past, but Tyler’s thoughts were a tangled mess.

Just ten minutes ago, he’d finally answered his grandfather’s call.

“Get home. Now!” Parker’s furious roar crackled through the phone.

Parker knew about Emilia.

But by then, he’d already given up hope that Tyler would bring her back. After all, everyone knew Tyler had only gone to that show for Vivienne.

So the old man simply ordered Tyler straight home.

The scenery blurred by as Tyler’s mind raced, anxiety churning in his chest.

Up front, Secretary Jensen kept glancing at Tyler in the rearview mirror. The tension inside the car was suffocating.

So Serena was Mrs. Erickson all along. How are we ever going to fix this? Secretary Jensen thought anxiously.

But he didn’t dare say a word. He just gripped the wheel tighter and pushed the car even faster.

He didn’t know what he was thinking anymore, or what he was supposed to do.

He had no answers for Vivienne’s questions, couldn’t guess what Emilia was feeling, and had nothing to say in response to his grandfather’s accusations.

“Speak!” Parker barked.

But Tyler had no words.

Bzzzz, bzzzz—

Suddenly, his phone vibrated in his pocket.

He glanced down—it was Secretary Jensen calling.

Secretary Jensen would never have called at a time like this unless it was urgent.

So, bracing himself against Parker’s rage, Tyler picked up.

“Mr. Erickson—it’s bad. News just broke online. The owner of the tanzanite at the charity auction—she’s Mrs. Erickson.”
