George Glenn grinned. “Oh, that? My brother says he’s not buying it. Do whatever you want with it.”
With that, he hung up.
Phone call over, he played the dramatic comeback video for his chubby tabby cat, then wandered off to grab his other phone and scroll through trending topics, eager for the latest drama.
“Heh.” George started to chuckle, already anticipating the chaos to come. “Tyler’s going to lose his mind over this. Serves him right!”
…
Across town, the two paparazzi exchanged nervous glances.
“So what now?” one asked.
“George said it was his brother’s call. That means Theodore saw this coming,” the other replied. “Let’s just leak it online. At least we’ll get the clicks.”
“Deal!”
“I’ll handle it. Watch and learn,” said the more experienced one, rolling up his sleeves.
…
Meanwhile, the internet was already ablaze with speculation when a new video suddenly appeared.
In the video, a man and a woman were playing by the ocean. The woman, laughing, scooped up water and splashed it at the man. He just smiled, holding her heels in one hand, and flicked a little water back at her—playful, gentle, obviously unable to bring himself to really soak her.
It was obvious to everyone watching: he was completely smitten, just teasing her.
The video, like the last one, was shot from a clever angle. Whenever the woman dodged the spray, her face was conveniently hidden.
Viewers were losing their patience.
“These paparazzi are messing with us on purpose! This is all we get?”
“I’m dying here—just show us her face already!”
…
The lead paparazzo gave a sly smile and posted on his account: “100,000 likes to unlock the next video.”
The top comment read, “You absolute troll!”
Still, as much as people complained, the likes poured in. In minutes, the post broke 100,000—then shot straight past a million.
The hype was off the charts.
“Dude, you’re a legend!” one of the younger paparazzi said in awe as their boss uploaded the next video.
