Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 376

Sophia cradled the items in her arms and nodded.

Together, they moved into a quiet corner.

“I heard you’re the doctor here,” Tyler said, breaking the silence.

She nodded in confirmation.

“What is it you want to ask me?” Sophia met his gaze. “Or rather, what’s troubling you?”

Tyler hesitated, his eyes lingering not on Sophia but somewhere distant—lost in thought.

Finally, he spoke. “I’ve got something on my mind.”

Sophia waited patiently.

He kept his eyes fixed ahead, as though searching for answers in the empty space. “If I’m in love with someone, truly love her, but I’ve hurt her deeply... what should I do?”

Sophia watched him carefully, wondering if he was talking about Emilia.

She asked, “Well, what options do you think you have?”

“She wants to leave,” Tyler admitted, “but I can’t let her go. I tried to keep her by my side, even resorting to some... pretty low tactics.”

He trailed off.

Turning to Sophia, he asked, “If you were me, what would you do?”

Sophia let out a long sigh. “Sometimes loving someone doesn’t mean holding on at any cost. If she’s made up her mind to leave, why not let her go?”

“If you care about her that much, could you really stand to hurt her more?”

“If staying with you only brings her pain, isn’t it kinder to let her walk away?”

They locked eyes.

Seeing it from the outside, the solution seemed so clear. But for Tyler, it wasn’t that simple.

He finally realized—it wasn’t Emilia who couldn’t let go of him. It was him who couldn’t let go of her.

But she’d already made her choice.

She’d started seeing Theodore.

After a long pause, Tyler nodded.

“And arrange a discreet, stable exit package for her,” he added. “She’ll need funds and a fallback project.”

That was as much as he could do for Vivienne.

As for Emilia...

Tyler lowered his gaze, unable to face those thoughts.

Let it be, he told himself. Time would have to heal the rest.

He reached to start the car, but just then, he caught sight of the doctor who’d been in charge of Vivienne’s diagnosis nearby.

Perfect, he thought. He could ask about that report.

Tyler got out and walked over.

The doctor had his back to him, speaking quietly to someone else.

“…That’s right, we can only do a little bit of misdirection here,” the doctor was saying. “Even though this is a private clinic and we can bend the rules a bit, we can’t just fabricate a diagnosis out of thin air.”

“Last time, there was someone trying to get a fake medical record, but that patient actually went so far as to slash her own wrists—so that one was real enough. But unless your family member…”
