Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 392

Theodore glanced around the room one last time before switching off the light and shutting the door behind him. He made his way downstairs, step by step, and settled at a table in the corner, watching as George Glenn played with Coco.

The fat ragdoll cat was currently learning how to play hide-and-seek.

“No claws, okay?” George Glenn said patiently to the cat. “You understand?”

“Mrow~”

The chubby ragdoll obediently sat back on its haunches.

Spotting Theodore coming down, George Glenn stood up at once, cradling the cat in his arms as he approached.

“Hey, Theo,” he said. “I’ve finally found a place and I’m getting ready to move out. When are you bringing Bella and Emily over to stay?”

George had always lived with Theodore, being the youngest in the family.

Theodore reached out and scratched the cat’s chin. “Probably not for a while. Emily still needs some time.”

George nodded, only half-understanding.

“How are things with Miss Jensen?” Theodore asked casually.

George immediately shook his head, almost defensively. “Nothing’s going on there—people are just making things up,” he muttered.

Theodore just looked at him for a moment, a knowing smile on his lips, but said nothing more.

Elsewhere—

At the hotel.

Raymond had just returned when the receptionist called out, “Mr. Kaufman, you have a visitor waiting upstairs.”

A visitor? That was odd. He nodded, then took the elevator up.

As soon as he reached the suite, he spotted his guest: Chloe Erickson.

He paused, didn’t even bother to unlock the door, and asked, “What brings you here?”

Chloe stood up. She’d dressed up beautifully tonight, cradling a box in her hands. She opened it to reveal a bottle of red wine.

Raymond let out a long sigh, then shoved the wine bottle back into her hands.

“This is meaningless,” he said, opening the door, ready to close it.

But Chloe forced her way, pushing against the door, tears streaming down her face. “Then why did you save me back then?” she cried. “Wouldn’t it have been better if you’d let me die?”

Raymond firmly pushed her out and shut the door.

Back then… it had just been a misunderstanding.

He’d assumed the Erickson Group’s contact was Emilia. When he heard she was in danger, he’d gone himself—nothing more. There was no reason for Chloe to know any of this.

Night deepened.

The Glenn Group’s new “Blue” collection had become a social media sensation. People flocked to the plaza, snapping photos between the two giant screens.

Luckily, the area was a dead-end street, and there was hardly any traffic on the other side.
