Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 395

And there were limits to the requirements, too.

If it was the Ultra-Luxury Villa Floral Collection, the first thing you needed was an ultra-exclusive villa.

That was how Tyler had propped Vivienne up from the beginning—feeding her connections and resources, nurturing her for the spotlight.

Not many wealthy people like to broadcast what their homes look like to the world.

After this, it was anyone’s guess where Vivienne could get another ultra-luxury villa.

Tyler, are you really going to keep supporting her?

Emilia lowered her gaze. This wasn’t something she should be worrying about.

Her job was simple: win every round that came next.

Bzzz.

Lost in thought, Emilia felt her phone vibrate.

She unlocked it to find a message from Theodore.

Theodore: Don’t be upset. Check this out.

Below was a video.

Front and center, Theodore’s famously chubby Ragdoll cat.

The cat was sprawled out on the couch, all four paws up in the air.

On each paw, Theodore had balanced a little rubber duck.

If its tail hadn’t been flicking back and forth, Emilia might have thought the whole thing was a plush toy.

Off to the side, Theodore was dressed in comfortable loungewear, holding another rubber duck. He squeezed it.

The duck squeaked with a ridiculous little noise.

“Meow!”

The Ragdoll let out a sharp meow, tail swishing even faster.

Emilia couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

This cat really was a performer.

So clever, so full of personality.

Emilia thought for a moment, then typed back: “Bella would absolutely love this.”

She hesitated, then added, “Honestly, so do I.”

She looked again at Theodore in the video, dressed casually at home. He wasn’t his usual, buttoned-up self—he looked softer, more relaxed, almost inviting.

Bzzz.

“I’ll be honest, Tyler, the more you help Vivienne now, the harder it’s going to be to fix things with Emilia down the road,” Owen said quietly. “Are you really sure about this?”

Tyler gazed into his glass, his mind echoing a line he’d heard from Theodore.

“How do you know she’s not the only one for me?”

He took a long drink.

“I know Vivienne’s getting more reckless,” he said at last, eyes fixed on the ceiling lights.

“But I don’t have a choice. I have to help her.”

“I can’t let Emilia win.”

If Emilia won, his grandfather would hand the Dennis family’s legacy over to her.

And without that legacy tying her down, she might really walk away—without even giving him the chance to explain.

“But you and Emilia… if you keep going like this, is there really any way to make things right?” Owen pressed.

Tyler didn’t know how to answer.

The lights above flickered and danced in a rainbow haze.

But his heart felt gray and empty.

He couldn’t find the words, so he clung to the only answer he had left.
