Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 413

Secretary Jensen let out a long sigh and shook his head.

Ever since he’d found out, he’d been trying to get more information, but Tyler hadn’t said a word—he just insisted on being discharged from the hospital.

Thinking of this, Secretary Jensen added, “Mr. Erickson was adamant about leaving. He’s at Hillside Manor now. I’ve arranged for a doctor to look after him there.”

Hillside Manor?

That was the house Tyler and Emilia had once shared when they were married.

The elderly couple exchanged a glance, and in that moment, they seemed to understand what was going on.

They didn’t give Secretary Jensen a hard time.

“Go ahead and take care of your work,” Parker said.

“Yes, sir.” Secretary Jensen turned and left, quietly closing the door behind him.

Now, only the two of them remained in the office.

“What do you think is going on, darling? Do you think this has something to do with Emily?” Mrs. Parker finally asked.

“Hmph!”

Parker gave a short, disgruntled grunt. “Who knows what he’s thinking? He never says a word! And even if this is about Emily, he brought it on himself.”

Mrs. Parker hesitated, as if she wanted to say more.

After a moment of silence, she spoke again, “That Glenn boy has been pursuing Emily pretty seriously lately. What if she says yes to him…”

Parker glanced at his wife. He didn’t have an answer. Silence settled between them once more.

No one knew how much time passed before Parker finally let out a heavy sigh. “Let’s just hope Tyler comes to his senses soon. If he keeps going on like this, there’s nothing more I can do.”

Mrs. Parker nodded quietly at his side.

People at the Erickson Group thought Tyler would make an appearance after a day or two—at least update the team or maybe host a video call.

But he didn’t.

“Miss Dennis, have you visited Mr. Erickson? How is he doing? Can you tell us anything about his condition?”

Security quickly arrived to separate the crowd, but plenty of onlookers still strained to catch a glimpse.

Emilia felt a headache coming on as she faced the mass of reporters.

She’d known about Tyler’s illness from day one, but she had no intention of getting involved.

She’d made things clear to Tyler a long time ago. That night, she’d just spelled it out more directly.

She had been keeping a low profile lately, even taking extra steps to disguise herself when she went out today—but she was still recognized by those waiting for her.

Emilia knew that if she didn’t give them an answer, the questions would only get worse.

The pendant beneath her blouse pressed coolly against her skin, steadying her nerves.

It was time to give the reporters a clear response.
