Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 468

Vivienne held the contract in her hand, her smile growing even brighter.

This was, without a doubt, an excellent deal.

While Vivienne was all smiles upstairs, Emilia had already made her way down to the ground floor.

Theodore’s car was parked at the curb. When he spotted her, he gave a quick honk, then stepped out to meet her.

Relief washed over him as soon as he saw Emilia safe and sound.

“Are you alright?” Theodore asked, opening the passenger door for her.

“I’m fine,” Emilia replied. Once he was in the driver’s seat, she handed him the amended agreement. “They just shortened the timeline.”

He glanced over it, nodded, and started the car.

“What’s your plan now?” Theodore asked as he pulled onto the road.

There wouldn’t be enough time if she relied solely on launching the new product.

Emilia smiled and leaned closer, whispering something to him.

Theodore raised his eyebrows. “So you’ve been preparing for this all along?”

Emilia nodded. “Yes, I started the process earlier, but I’ll need to adjust the schedule a bit.”

“Take me to Donovan Entertainment, please,” Emilia said, looking ahead at the road.

Theodore made a quick turn, heading for a different route.

“I had George meet with Christian last night to discuss a partnership. Does that bother you?” Theodore asked after a moment.

“Not at all.” Emilia understood the reasoning behind it, so she said, “Christian is pragmatic—if there’s business, he’ll take it.”

Theodore grinned and nodded. “Exactly. George told me that Christian said, ‘Only a fool leaves money on the table.’”

Emilia couldn’t help but laugh.

That was classic Christian—a perfect example of his style.

Before heading to Donovan Entertainment, Theodore took Emilia out for breakfast. Afterward, he dropped her off at the studio.

While Emilia was inside discussing business with Christian, Vivienne went live online.

“I’ve seen everything you’ve said,” she told her viewers, her eyes rimmed red. “I’m sorry. I handled this badly.”

“First of all, I admit I entered Hillside Manor and streamed without permission.”

Vivienne stood up and gave a deep, apologetic bow to the camera.

The chat exploded. She admitted it herself—there was no denying it now!

Even more shameless!

“But there was an emergency,” Vivienne explained. “I know it might sound like an excuse now, but I still owe you an explanation.”

“I had originally announced a different location for the stream, but that day, a water pipe burst at the site. I couldn’t film there, and I didn’t want to cancel the broadcast at the last minute, so I went somewhere else…”

As she spoke, Vivienne motioned for her assistant, who brought over a tablet. She played a video from the day they’d gone to Owen’s estate, showing the chaos—someone in the background could be heard saying, “What do we do about the burst pipe?”—and water everywhere.

“It was really just a sudden crisis, and I didn’t handle it well,” Vivienne said, bowing again.

“Tyler was out of town on business that day, so I couldn’t reach him. But I happened to know the code to the villa, so…”
