"If you like it, then do it. If you can't, then be tough. Women are always like this. If she refuses, you may not like it."
"Is that so?" Matt thought of the heartless words that Grace had said to refuse him. If she was lying, then she was a little too cruel.
Matt looked at the man beside him and sighed with emotion. "Sometimes, I envy Evelyn. I'm not as good as her in Grace's heart."
Huston thought for a moment. "That's possible."
"..." Matt felt even more depressed. "Get out of the way. Don't delay my work."
"Anyway, you can't let her down. If she comes to get even with me, my good days will come to an end." Although Huston seemed to speak up for himself, she was actually giving Matt a warning and helping Grace.
The two of them had been friends for so many years, how could Matt not tell? He immediately raised his eyebrows and said, "I remember that you were quite annoyed with her, weren't you?"
"Yes, but there's a horse of another color."
"Okay." Matt was amused and angry. He said self-deprecatingly, "It seems that I have to flatter her."
Unexpectedly, he was even more direct and glanced at him with disdain. "Do you think you're standing right now?"
Matt was stunned by his words and almost couldn't react. When he came to his senses, he almost strangled him to death on the spot. "Okay, okay, you live a happy life now, so you're making fun of me, aren't you?"
"As your brother, I'm reminding you to hurry up. It doesn't matter if you want to save face."
"That doesn't sound like you." Not too long ago, Huston's attitude towards women had truly been disdainful. Even if a fairy was in front of him, he definitely wouldn't take it seriously.
Sure enough, men in love could change.
She was startled and raised her hand to touch her chest. "Mom, you scared me to death!"
Lucy had come to the kitchen to fetch water, but she didn't expect to see her on the phone. No one knew a daughter better than her mother. Looking at her flustered expression, she immediately understood. "Did you call Huston?"
"It's so dark. Why didn't you say anything?" She didn't answer directly, but tried to change the subject.
Lucy took her hand and led her into the bedroom. There were only two of them in the room. As a mother, she couldn't help but worry. "What's going on between you and Huston now?"
Just as she was about to say something to cover it up, she heard her say, "Tell me the truth. Don't lie to me and your father."
"..." The words were stuck in her throat. She had no choice but to admit it. "His attitude has indeed changed a lot recently, and the child has been settled. Now Lucas thinks highly of him as a father, which I didn't expect."
