In the end, most of the city was affected due to the demon war. But these hard times also created a lot of talented individuals who shone brightly during this war. Some of them were also directly admitted in the Thunderpeak Academy or even taken in by other institutes or powers.
Orion walked toward a large square at the corner of the city. There, on large stone monuments a lot of names were engraved. Those were the names of people who died while fighting the demons.
Their family members or close friends come from all over the city to pay their respect daily. Orion also came this time to visit this place and pay his respect to the predecessors who fought until the end to protect the city.
He stood in front of a monument with Nyss at his side, silently gazing at the names. He inwardly wondered, would he have been able to fight to the death against the demons here or run away since he was capable of it?
In the end, he couldn’t come to any conclusion, and it wasn’t because he loved his life too much but because too many people were connected to him. If he were to unfortunately die, then not only would his grandparents be depressed after losing someone precious to them again but quite a few people would be affected as well.
He inwardly shook his head, ’No point thinking about it, I don’t think we will be reaching that point here.’
Nyss tilted her head upwards and softly said, "It’s almost time for the auction."
Orion came to his senses and looked towards the sky, "Yes, it’s time. Let’s go, I want to see if there is something good in the auction. Hopefully it won’t disappoint me."
"Don’t have too much hope of it. It’s a local auction after all." Nyss said, fearing he would have too high expectations for the auction.
Orion turned around and headed some distance away from the solemn square where the families were mourning before speaking, "Don’t worry, I’m just going there to join in on the fun. If there is something interesting there then I will buy it, if not then I won’t be disappointed."
Nyss nodded her head and didn’t say anything further.
Soon, the two of them reached back the auction house after crossing half the city, by now a stream of people were entering the auction house. Despite the scale of the auction being small, the items were still very enticing for the average cultivators in the city.
Orion could see cultivators from Tier 4 all the way to Tier 9, some even had hidden aura making it impossible for him to gauge their strength.
But he didn’t pay too much attention to them, after all they were here to bid on treasures and not to fight. And even if it came down to fight he wasn’t afraid of anyone except of course Exalted Grade beings, but how rare were they?
They wouldn’t be joining in the fun between juniors here in such a small auction.
Just as the two of them were about to head towards the auction house, something inside Orion’s SoC stirred and before he could react the Soulpiercer Sword flew out of his SoC and rapidly transformed into an average-looking adult woman.
Orion looked at Asteraxa’s changed face with slight shock, "Damn you can come out on your own?"
Asteraxa’s lips twitched slightly, "Of course, I just didn’t want to bother before so I never came out but it’s been too long and I want to take some fresh air so I came out."
Nyss warily looked towards the newcomer, secretly wondering what her relationship with Orion was. As for how she came in front of them all of a sudden? She didn’t bother to think that way, the only thing concerning her was her relationship with Orion.
Orion also saw Nyss looking at Asteraxa, he lightly coughed, "Cough, let me introduce you to each other. Nyss, she is Asteraxa... just consider her my close friend. And Asteraxa, as you already know she is Nyss, one of my club members."
Asteraxa charmingly smiled towards Nyss and nodded her head, "Hello, nice to meet you."
