Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1936

Fiona shot her a blank, innocent look, then narrowed her eyes and let out a laugh.

“I don’t even know you. What could I possibly be up to?”

If you want to take someone down, you can’t really hide that kind of energy.

Seriously, if you’re here to eat, just eat. Why bring all this drama to the table? Does she think the world revolves around her? That everyone’s just here to cater to her every whim?

“With that attitude, it’s no wonder someone on your team got poisoned. Honestly, you all deserve to miss out on first place.”

Fiona set her chopsticks down, her patience wearing thin. She’d just wanted a peaceful meal—when did this place turn into a stage for clowns?

It was honestly ridiculous.

“And how would you know if we get first place or not?” Fiona replied, her voice cool. “Unless you’re planning to cheat?”

As she spoke, Fiona’s gaze flicked to the event organizers. There wasn’t even a hint of anger in her eyes—just a calm, knowing smile that made it impossible to tell what she was really thinking.

“Ms. Fiona, you must be joking. We’re committed to fairness and transparency—I promise you, nothing like that would ever happen.”

The woman from Country M frowned, clearly confused about why the organizers were being so polite to Fiona.

She shot a quick glance at Amy. It was barely a second, but Fiona caught it.

So much for Amy’s supposed connections. They weren’t worth much after all.

You could see the shift—Amy’s expression went cold, her fists clenched so tight her knuckles turned white, as if she was desperate to silence the Country M team.

“So what? In the end, Country M will win. That’s just how it is.”

“Good luck, then.” Fiona raised her wine glass in a small toast, her gesture somewhere between a celebration and a brush-off.

“Country M sure likes to talk big,” Jackson suddenly chimed in, his tone casual but sharp. “This is only the second round, and you’re already acting like you’re on top. Not worried about falling off that pedestal?”

The Country M women froze, clearly furious, but didn’t dare say a word.

They all knew better than to cross Jackson. The Woods family had real power—enough that even Country M had to think twice before making enemies. That’s why they kept picking at Fiona, but never dared to provoke Jackson directly.
