Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1952

They had no clue what really happened, but that didn’t stop them from spewing hate online.

“Have you gotten hold of Addison yet?” Jane asked, glancing at Mikayla.

“No. She’s ignoring my calls and not replying to any of my messages,” Mikayla said, frustration written all over her face.

Jane let out a sharp breath. “Honestly, if she keeps this up, she can forget about ever working in this industry again.”

Her mind flashed back to that morning—catching Jackson leaving Fiona’s room. She followed her gut and shot Jackson a look, only to spot him chatting with one of the event organizers. They looked deep in conversation, almost like they were scheming.

Jane hesitated for a second, then grabbed her phone and fired off a text to Jackson. He responded almost instantly.

Jane: What do you think about what everyone’s saying online?

Jackson: Addison tried to sneak out and got caught. We’ll release the evidence after the competition.

Jane: ??? Seriously? You already have proof?

After that, silence. Not a single new message.

Jane’s anxiety spiked. She couldn’t just sit and do nothing.

Jane: Say something! At least give them a hint. Right now, everyone’s after Fiona.

Jackson didn’t seem fazed by her barrage of messages. Instead, he sent over a batch of photos.

Jackson: Handle it for now.

The evidence was right there in the photos. With the influencers guiding the conversation, public opinion shifted fast. Still, some die-hard commenters insisted this was all a setup to make Fiona look innocent.

“How lame is this? It’s 2024—who still uses these tired old tricks? You expect me to believe they went through an entire competition and never even met? Sharing a few tips doesn’t prove anything. Shameless.”

“Fine, clear your name, but using these dirty tactics is just gross. Get her out of the design world already.”

“Are you people serious? She literally has evidence, and you’re still calling it a cover-up? What, are you scared your favorite might get exposed?”

“This was all made up from the start, but you act like you know everything. The truth’s right in front of you and you still won’t see it. Maybe just log off, for real.”

Jane kept refreshing her feed, watching as the tide slowly turned. Seeing the narrative shift, her tense expression finally softened.

Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Addison was looking grim. She stood at the edge of the shore, watching a ship draw closer. As long as she could get away, Fiona’s name would never be cleared.
