Focus on Revenge A Photographer’s Killer Shot novel Chapter 91

The riverside was bustling with people, basically family and friends, gathered here in groups to celebrate the

New Year together.

In the midst of the laughing crowd, a woman in a beige dress staggers toward the river on a cotton slipper.

Floating on the river are a number of blessing lanterns, a local New York New Year’s ritual.

Isolde’s vision blurred as she looked at the prayer lights on the river.

Mom ……

The moment she opened her mouth, the tears that had been suppressed for three days and three nights could no longer be controlled and gushed out of her eyes like a flood breaking through a dike.

Mom! It’s New Year’s, why aren’t you home …… mom!

Behind her was a bustling crowd, Isolde held onto the fence by the river and called out to her mother in a

loud voice.

Her choked and mournful cries blended into the sound of laughter behind her, and no one cared.

No matter how much she shouted, she would never get a response from her mother.

The pain of losing a loved one ran through her body.

She had no mother.

From now on, she no longer has a home ……

Behind her, someone was shouting out a New Year’s wish:

A new year of peace and joy for the whole family!

Wish me a new year, my parents are well, my husband and wife are in love, my children are healthy, and my whole family is happy and joyful!

Isolde turned back and looked at the smiling faces with sweet happiness, only to feel empty in her heart.

Loneliness trapped her like a demon.

It was so nice that they all had families.

She hooked her lips and smiled ruefully.

Slowly turning around, she looked at the river, a touch of determination emerging in her eyes.

Amidst the sound of fervent proclamations, Isolde tumbled over the fence.

Hey! Little girl what are you doing ……

Someone in the crowd exclaimed.

Isolde turned a deaf ear, closed her eyes and slowly opened her hands

Hey! Someone is going to jump into the river-

In the nick of time, a tall and slender figure rushed up and grabbed Isolde’s arm!

Isolde had a dream.

In the dream she was having New Year’s Eve dinner with her mother.

Her mother complimented her on her good cooking.

Isolde smiled, but a tear slipped from the corner of her eye.

Mom ……

On the big bed, Isolde frowns, tears soaking a large part of the pillow.

She rambles on and on, her hands clenching the lapels of her chest in agony.

In her dream, her mother said that she was tired and that she would have to walk the road ahead by herself

Isolde cried and begged her mother not to go, but her mother still gradually disappeared in the foggy river, no matter how Isolde called no longer appear.

Mom!

Isolde woke up from her dream.

Looking at the familiar ceiling, she was in a trance for a moment.

Mom!

Chapter 91

Rowan, who was playing with a toy at the end of the bed, saw Isolde waking up and dropped the toy and

crawled to her side.

Mommy did you have a bad dream?

Isolde looked at Rowan, her chaotic brain gradually waking up.

This was Moonlight Villa.

But how did she get here?

Isolde propped herself up on the bed and sat up, raising her hand to rub her swollen temples.

She vaguely remembered that she went to the riverside and seemed to have gone over the fence……

She couldn’t remember anything after that.

Mom? Why are you crying?Rowan looked up and touched her wet face, You kept shedding tears in your

sleep too, and you kept calling out for mommy.

Isolde looked at Rowan.

The concern in a child’s eyes doesn’t fool anyone.

However, the child’s frown when she frowns at people, that frown resembles Doris.

Thinking of Doris, a strong sense of repulsion welled up in Isolde’s heart.

She gently pushed away Rowan’s small hand and lifted the quilt to get out of bed.

She was still a little dizzy from just standing up, and her body was too limp to make any effort.

But this was a place she didn’t want to stay for a second longer.

Isolde braced her weak body and walked out of the master bedroom, heading downstairs.

Mom!

Rowan came out after her and took Isolde’s hand, Are you leaving again mom?

Isolde looked down at him and drew back her hand, her tone cold, Rowan, don’t ever call me mom again.

Rowan was stunned.

Isolde stopped looking at him and turned to go downstairs.
