Forced Marriage: My Wife, My Redemption novel Chapter 443

Chapter 443: Set?

Davis’ days had been exceptionally blissful, more than he had anticipated.

It almost felt as though the storms he once weathered were nothing but a fading nightmare.

The pains he endured seemed like illusions, distant and powerless now. Fate, it appeared, had chosen to reward him generously.

Weeks back had seen the ascension and advancement of the Allen Group in the world of innovation.

The launch of the energy-saving prototype, which had been the lifelong dream of his parents and Nora Santiago, had been able to see the light of day and was unveiled before the world.

Its unveiling to the world was not just a corporate success; it was a personal victory, a legacy fulfilled.

An achievement which had set him ahead of his peers, so much that some of the persons who despised him during his low had to come crawling back.

Day after day, business partners and investors sought him out to collaborate. His grandfather’s health had been restored, and Elder Allen now spent his mornings joyfully in the company of his great-grandchildren.

Looking at the lady who was sleeping peacefully in his arms, his heart melted, his gaze softened, butterflies fluttering in his stomach, he felt nothing but gratefulness, a silent promise of loving her and only her.

His phone buzzed on the nightstand. He glanced at the woman in his arms, carefully laying her onto the bed as she continued sleeping.

Davis picked up the phone and walked over to the balcony, his voice deliberately low. "Arrived?"

"Yes, Sir," Ethan’s voice filtered through the speaker.

"Alright, we will be there," he answered softly, looking at the sky which was still clouded over. His lips curled up.

For months, he had planned for this day, and seeing it close to manifestation would be his greatest joy. With a deep exhale, he returned into the bedroom.

He sat on the bed beside her, his hand softly twirling a few strands of her hair before it trailed down to her cheeks in a warm caress.

Jessica stirred briefly.

"You’re awake?" he murmured.

Jessica buried herself deep into the pillow, pulling the blanket over her head. "I still want to sleep."

"You have been sleeping." He smirked.

"Not until four days ago after I delivered that wedding dress to the mysterious owner." She mumbled under her breath.

"But you’ve also worked relentlessly in the previous years." He chimed.

Jessica peeked out from under the blanket, a tinge of envy in her tone. "But that gown requirements were so exceptional... I almost envied whoever it was for."

"You love it?" Davis asked, curiosity lighting his eyes.

"Very much," she admitted, sitting up slowly.

"Freshen up," Davis said, rising. "We’ve got somewhere to go."

Her brows furrowed. "Somewhere? You never mentioned that last night."

"I just thought of it." He smirked.

Jessica sighed and left the bed. By the time she was done, Davis was already standing with her handbag packed and in his hand.

"Let’s go," he said, taking her hand in his.

The living room usually throbbed with Deborah’s enthusiasm. She usually bustled through the house, directing other staff on what to do.

But this day seemed different. It was eerily silent as though it had never inhabited the warmth of the occupants.

Her brow furrowed lightly. "What about Deborah?" she asked.

"Not in at the moment," Davis clipped while leading her out of the house.
