taken it with her Polaroid. Only one person would display it here.

“Victor, the staff said that’s the couples‘ photo wall. Let’s add ours!”

Sophie ripped the photo off the wall, voice sharp. “So this is why you’ve been distracted all day–thinking about Lily.”

Victor’s lips parted, but no explanation came.

His silence spoke volumes.

Sophie tore the photo to shreds, hurled it into a trash bin, and stormed off.

Their date ended bitterly.

Victor gathered the torn fragments. Words were scribbled on the back.

He recognized Lily’s handwriting. Only four characters remained: “Lily likes Shen.”

Victor stared at the pieces. After a long hesitation, he pocketed them.

Sophie trashed her living room in fury.

No apology messages waited on her phone.

Victor replied indifferently with a “Yeah.”

Remembering Victor’s earlier criticism, Sophie forced a smile and greeted the rest of the design department.

When the others saw Sophie greeting them, they pretended not to notice.

Sophie awkwardly lowered her hand, and the fake smile on her face. faded.

As she walked back to her office, she could even hear their comments about her.

Coupled with the amusement park incident that day, Sophie blamed all of this on Lily.
