Silas’s POVL
Silas sat at the edge of the bed with his elbows resting on his knees as he kept staring at the empty closet before him. The divorce papers and Willow’s note were on the nightstand. He had read them over and over again, hoping that the words would somehow change. but they never did.
unty, and
He rubbed his palms over his face and exhaled sharply. It had been four days. Four whole days since he found the house empty. realized that Willow was gone
Yet, there was still no sign of her.
It didn’t make sense.
She had been bleeding. He had seen it with his own eyes. The amount of blood on the bathroom floor should’ve left her unconscious How could she have packed up everything and disappeared that quickly?
Was someone helping her?!|–
Was she even alive?!
The thought made his chest tighten, and he stood abruptly, pacing the room again for the hundredth time that moming.
“Damn it,” he muttered under his breath.
He had gone to the hospital and asked if she had checked in under a different name. He had questioned the guards again. None of them saw her leave. She hadn’t called. She hadn’t texted. She had simply vanished.
“Why?” he muttered again, his hand balling into a fist
“Silas,” Ana’s voice called sweetly behind him.}
He turned.
She was on the bed, wearing one of his shirts only. Her eyes were narrowed slightly, and she smirked sultrily.
“Come back to bed,” she said, patting the space beside her. “You’ve been pacing for hours, Silas.”
He ran a hand through his hair. “I’m thinking. Ana,”?
She rolled her eyes. “Yes, I know. Willow is gone. But can we please stop pretending like that’s a bad thing?”
He stared at her
Ana sat up and leaned on her elbows, as she pouted, “You always complained about her, remember? She was boring, and annoying. She didn’t know how to please you, and you detested her,”
Silas didn’t respond.
Ana tilted her head and smiled. “You should be relieved. You finally have what you’ve always wanted. Just me and you. No drama. No Willow.
She sat up on her knees and crawled toward him. Her hands reached for his chest, and her fingers trailed along his collarbone.
“Let’s celebrate,” she whispered. “We finally got her out of the way.”
Her lips grazed his jaw, but Silas didn’t move
He wasn’t aroused. He wasn’t excited. He was angry.!!
He stared at the wall, clenching his jaw tightly.
Ana noticed
She pulled back slightly, frowning, “Silas? Are you alright?”
“I don’t want to do this right now, he muttered.}
“Why not?” she asked in confusion. “You’re acting like you’re in mourning or something.”
He didn’t respond.
Ana’s tone shifted to annoyance. “Are you senously still thinking about her?“%
Silas didn’t say a word.
Ana scoffed. “She’s gone. Silas. She probably ran off with someone else. I mean, how else could she have vanished so fast while bleeding? Think about it.“..
His eyes snapped to hers.
“Someone probably helped her,” Ana continued, playing with the buttons on his shirt. “Maybe she was seeing someone all along. Maybe that’s why she was so cold to you these past few days. Maybe she was cheating on you-”
“Squt up.” he said sharply.
She pulled back completely now, her lips parting in shock. “Are you seriously mad at me right now?”
He didn’t answer.
Silas turned away from her, walking toward the window. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to get his thoughts straight.
He reached for it immediately, pushing Ana’s hand away as she tried to hold him. She stumbled slightly and fell back on the bed with a frustrated groan.
