Chapter 148
Maggie pressed her lips together, unsure of his intentions.
“This is my business.”
Whether she was fine or not was no longer his concern.
It seemed that Franklin had just asked casually. When she didn’t answer, he didn’t press the issue. Without her noticing, he led her out of the dance floor and then turned and left.
No one knew how it had come about that Franklin and Maggie had suddenly become dance partners.
When they saw this scene, everyone was quite surprised.
Julia bit her lip.
However, she quickly regained her composure.
If Franklin could fall in love with Maggie, it would have happened long ago.
There would be no waiting until now.
When Franklin returned, she left the dance floor and asked, “Did you go to talk to her about something?
Franklin replied, “Just talked about Isabella.”
Julia nodded. “Mm.”
She knew that if there was nothing important, Franklin wouldn’t have gone to talk to Maggie.
She smiled and once again invited Franklin to dance.
Franklin followed her back onto the dance floor.
On the other side, Johnny was also taken aback when he saw that Franklin was the one dancing with Maggie.
When he found out that Franklin had approached her to talk about the child, he felt a bit relieved. “Try to avoid getting involved with him in the future.”
Chapter 148
Maggie responded, “I know.”
At this point, Jimmy walked over. “Miss Miller, sorry for swapping the dance partners without your
consent.”
After the switch, he noticed that Maggie looked cold and was clearly averse to dancing with Franklin.
She didn’t want to dance with him.
At that moment, he recalled that Franklin was Julia’s boyfriend.
There seemed to be some animosity between Julia and Maggie.
So, he guessed that Franklin had approached her suddenly because he wanted to talk about Julia.
Perhaps even to seek justice for Julia.
Maggie shook her head and said, “It’s fine, it’s not your fault. If I were you, I’d have done the same.”
Her tone was sincere and calm.
It was clear that she truly didn’t hold it against him.
Earlier, when dancing with her, Jimmy had noticed that she wasn’t someone quick–witted or adept at
socializing.
She was quiet and composed, and her gaze toward him held no ulterior thoughts–she simply saw him as a temporary dance partner.
Jimmy extended his hand. “Would you like to dance again?”
Maggie hesitated for a moment.
Seeing that Jimmy wasn’t interested in her in a romantic sense, just sincerely apologizing and showing friendliness, she took his hand out of respect.
He had offered the invitation with genuine sincerity.
He wasn’t romantically inclined.
After all, there were no lingering emotions in his demeanor.
He was simply trying to make amends.

He also wanted to show some respect, so Maggie agreed.
He then took her back onto the dance floor.
