Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time (by Zora Pradeep) novel Chapter 233

Chapter 233

With that, Maggie no longer looked at him and turned to leave.

Franklin stepped forward, as if to stop her, but just then, his phone rang.

Franklin took out his phone, glanced at the caller ID, and paused. Watching Maggie get into the car, he

answered the call.

Johnny, seeing that Franklin had intended to stop Maggie but then gave up, cast a glance at him and snorted, then turned and got into Maggie’s car.

Johnny hadn’t really understood what Maggie and Franklin had been talking about earlier.

Once inside the car, he asked Maggie, “Where did he want you to go?”

Maggie mentioned the upcoming birthday celebration for Old Madam Wilson.

Johnny wasn’t aware that Old Madam Wilson was preparing for a birthday celebration.

The Gray and Wilson families were on good terms, but with the Wilson family being so elaborate in planning the event, the Gray family should have received an invitation.

However, Johnny rarely returned to his family’s main household, so he didn’t know about this.

After hearing what Maggie said, he responded, “It’s good that you’re not going.”

Then, he frowned and said, “Didn’t he already take Julia to the Wilson family’s old residence and

introduce her to the family? He should probably bring Julia to the birthday event as well, right? If he’s bringing Julia, why does he need you to come? In fact, isn’t it better if you don’t go?”

Maggie had thought about this too.

But she believed that she and Franklin would have no more interactions in the future. She no longer cared about his relationship with Julia, and although she found it illogical, she didn’t dwell on it too much.

Johnny paused, then continued, “Could it be that when he brought Julia back to the old residence, the family didn’t approve of their relationship?

He knows that Old Madam Wilson likes you and values you, and maybe he thinks that if you agree to come, the family will finally let go of their prejudice towards Julia, helping them be together?”

Maggie paused, then said, “Maybe.”

Johnny sneered, “No wonder he’s willing to lower his guard and come find you. He’s really calculating”

Maggie didn’t say anything more and focused on driving.

Elsewhere.

After a brief conversation, Franklin hung up the phone.

Yet, Rex didn’t leave.

When he saw Franklin hang up, he paused before asking, Miss Brown?”

Franklin smiled. “Yes.”

He put his phone back in his pocket and looked at him, saying, “Mr. Hardin, do you have any other plans?

How about we grab a bite?”

Rex paused, looked at Franklin for a moment, then agreed, “Sure.”

Half an hour later.

Franklin and Rex arrived at the restaurant.
