Chapter 243
A while later. Franklin answered the phone: “School’s over?”
“Mm…” Isabella replied with a hint of anticipation.
Franklin smiled lightly and asked, “Do you miss Mommy?”
“Mm…” Isabella’s voice became sweeter and softer.
“Did you not call Mommy?” he continued, his tone still gentle.
“Mm.” Isabella responded quietly, sounding a bit embarrassed.
Franklin chuckled softly, “Call her. Mommy should have time to answer today.”
Isabella’s eyes lit up upon hearing this: “Really?”
“Really. Call Mommy now,” he said warmly.
“Okay!” Isabella quickly hung up and dialed Maggie’s number.
Maggie hesitated when she saw the call coming in.
Although Isabella had visited her in the hospital after she fell down the stairs and again when she went to
the Yves family, those two encounters didn’t count toward their planned one–month meetings.
Setting aside those, it had actually been more than a month since she last saw Isabella.
With this in mind, Maggie answered the call: “Isabella, is school over?”
Before Maggie could finish, Isabella, upon hearing her answer the phone, happily exclaimed, “Mommy!”
Her tone was filled with surprise.
Maggie paused, her hand resting on the mouse, and stopped moving for a moment. After a brief two seconds, she came back to her senses and responded lightly, “Mm, Mommy’s here. Did you finish school?”
“Mm!” Isabella happily said, “Mommy, where are you? I wanted to call you earlier, but I was worried you wouldn’t have time to pick up, so I didn’t.

Maggie was silent for a more “right” She added, “Then you go to great grandmother’s house first. Mommy will come back aber I finish work.”
“Mar” Isabella responded, her voice full of reliance and expectations.
After banging up. Maggie finished the work at hand and then left the office.
When she returned to the Miller family home, before she even entered the door, Isabella had already run out to her, jumping into her arms: “Mommy!
“Mm.” Maggie gently picked her up, and Isabella’s smile was as bright as sunshine
Mrs. Miller, seeing her return, smiled and said. “Maggie, you’re back? Just in time, dinner’s ready. Come
inside and eat.”
Maggie smiled back, “Alright.”
Isabella sat next to Maggie during dinner. She had not had a meal cooked by Maggie in a long time. Locking at the food in front of her, she couldn’t help but say,
“Mommy, you haven’t cooked for me in a while. Can you make me some pasta tomorrow? I really want to eat your pasta, cheese cake, and sushi”
Since deciding to divorce Franklin, Maggie had indeed not cooked for Isabella. Moreover, when Isabella came to the Miller family, she had been so busy that she didn’t get a chance to cook.
Thinking of this, Maggie agreed, “Alright, I’ll cook for you tomorrow.”
As for Julia, the outside world didn’t pay much attention. However, Mrs. Miller and Jason knew that Isabella’s relationship with Julia was probably quite close.
They were naturally uncomfortable with this. But they understood that Isabella was still young and didn’t understand the adult conflicts between the Miller and Brown families, so they didn’t blame her.

Maggie replied. “No.”
“Mom, you know Uncle Harry?” Isabella asked, a little confused.
After dinner, Isabella mentioned that Franklin was on a business trip, and that’s when Maggie found out.
