The next morning. Franklin, Isabella, and Julia arrived early at the stadium where Isabella’s competition would take place.

Not long after, Harry and Daisy arrived as well.

Upon seeing them, Isabella greeted with a smile, “Uncle, Daisy, you’re here!”

Daisy came over and held Isabella’s hand. “Your match is about to start–are you nervous, Isabella?

Isabella, however, remained calm and composed. She shook her head. “Not at all.”

Harry had other business to attend to–he was only here to drop Daisy off.

Knowing he was in a hurry, Franklin said, “I’ll look after Daisy. Go take care of your work.”

Harry nodded. “Alright, I’ll come back around noon and have lunch with you guys.”

“Sounds good.”

The bond between the two still seemed as strong as ever.

But…

Julia listened to their conversation, her gaze flitting between Franklin and Harry.

If Franklin were to find out that Harry had fallen for Maggie, would their friendship still be the same?

Noticing her gaze, Harry gave her a slight nod without saying a word, then turned and left.

Watching him come and go without once speaking to her, Julia let out a faintly mocking smile.

Ever since he had fallen for Maggie, Harry had grown colder and colder toward her.

Meanwhile, back at home resting, Maggie received a call from Johnny.

“My parents and I are going out for lunch today. It’s been a while since they last saw you, and they’ve mentioned you a few times recently. They really want to see you–do you want to join us?

It had indeed been quite a while since Maggie had seen Mr. and Mrs. Gray. Hearing this, she agreed.

Close to noon, she got in her car and headed out.

By the time she arrived at the restaurant, Johnny and his parents had just gotten there as well.

Seeing her, Mrs. Gray held her hand warmly. “It’s been so long, our Maggie is still as beautiful as ever.”

As Maggie and Mrs. Gray chatted, Levi stepped out of a car nearby. When he saw Maggie, Johnny, and Mr. and Mrs. Gray together, he froze for a moment.

Maggie noticed him too, and the smile on her face faded slightly before she calmly looked away.

Gray.

Franklin picked up quickly. “What’s up?

“Guess who I just saw?

“…Seriously?Levi could already tell from Franklin’s tone that he had a good idea.

“You’re right–it was Maggie. But here’s the kicker–she was with Johnny and his parents. Dude, it totally looked like she was meeting the parents! Mrs. Gray even held her hand and looked super affectionate, like Maggie was already her daughter–in–law. I swear, they might really be close to tying the knot!”

Seeing that gossiping with Franklin wasn’t going anywhere, Levi switched topics. “Has Isabella’s match finished? What were the results?

“Alright then…” Levi, still bubbling with gossip, couldn’t help himself. He shared the whole thing with Julia and Harry in their group chat.
