For the next two or three days, Maggie focused solely on the Capital Smart Traffic Platform project.
To make sure her proposal was airtight, she even did several field inspections.
Finally, she submitted the bid before the deadline.
Johnny received the update and texted her back:
“Nice work. You’ve been working hard.“,
He’d been busy too.
In addition to running the company and managing the Wilson Corporation partnership, he’d attended two networking banquets.
After those events, several execs from autonomous vehicle companies had reached out to him.
He planned to evaluate their current status before making any decisions.
Meanwhile, things were going smoothly between Cole and Wilson Corporation–they’d already moved on to the next stage of collaboration.
To celebrate, Franklin invited Johnny and another partner to dinner.
Johnny wasn’t a fan of Franklin, but he had to admit: Wilson Corporation deserved its stellar reputation.
Working with their engineers had been quite productive.
That said, there were some unpleasant moments.
For example, they often ran into people from the Brown and Green families.
Johnny didn’t even bother saying hello–he just left.
Watching him go, Sophia smirked and whispered to Julia:
“Since my brother–in–law’s company partnered with Cole, that bitch’s been showing up nonstop, acting like nothing
can move forward without her.
But now? She’s totally vanished these past few days. Must’ve been a blow, huh?”
She was referring, of course, to how Franklin had gifted Julia that hotshot Wilson Tech autonomous vehicle company, which had been making waves in the industry lately.

After Franklin left, Soplila beamed.
“No matter how hard Maggie works, so what?
Johnny would never hand her a billion dollar company.
She could work for a lifetime and never reach the starting line you’re already standing on.”
“She schemed for years just to marry my brother–in–law, even had his kid–and what did she get?
Not even a fraction of what you received as a casual gift. Hilarious.”
“If I were her, knowing how casually he gave you all that money, I’d be crushed.”
Julia simply smiled and said nothing.
She had to admit–Maggie’s competence used to make her uneasy.
But now, just like her sister said:
No matter how hard Maggie tried, what did she actually gain?
Even if she improved herself, even if she secured connections like Johnny and Nolan-
How long would it take for her to catch up?
Would she ever own a billion–dollar empire?
Tracy also chuckled.
“Some people… were just born behind.”
No matter how you looked at it, Maggie could never match up to Julia.
Logan, silent all this time, nodded inwardly.
Indeed–Maggie had worked so hard, but in the end, it was all for nothing.
That same evening, Maggie and Johnny attended a dinner with a major autonomous vehicle company exec.
After days of grinding, the Capital Smart Traffic Platform finally reached its bid announcement day.
Julia and Logan arrived early.
They were confident about their chances.
Chatting casually with other attendees, they wore relaxed smiles.
