When Logan appeared, there wasn’t the slightest trace of surprise on Maggie’s face.
The Capital’s Smart Traffic Project was crucial to the Brown family’s tech company, yet she had swooped in at the last minute and taken it from under their noses. How could they possibly sit still after that?
Besides, this wasn’t going to be a one–time thing.
She would strike again when the opportunity arose.
The bidding had already ended. The Brown family no longer had the capability to win the project back. So, if she had guessed correctly, Logan had come today to prevent similar incidents from happening again in the future.
How would he try to persuade her?
Emotional appeal, of course.
Because that doesn’t cost a thing.
But Maggie had no interest in putting on a polite act with him.
She turned around. Just as he was about to speak, she cut him off:
“I remember last time, Old Madam Brown stood in front of everyone and said I wasn’t her granddaughter.
Your family’s been in the Capital for over half a year now. You and I have crossed paths more than a few times, Mr. Brown, but never once have you publicly acknowledged me as your daughter.”
Her tone paused slightly here. She shot him a cold, indifferent glance.
“So, Mr. Brown, now that you’ve come to me… what exactly do you think you can say?”
She laid bare the fact that there was no father–daughter bond left between them.
Logan froze. Before he could respond, a laugh came from behind him–Johnny.
“That’s right,” Johnny said with a chuckle. “Things have already gotten to this point. What exactly do you think you can still say to her, Mr. Brown?”
Logan frowned. “Mr. Gray, this is between me and Maggie-”
“Maggie?” Johnny sneered. “Calling her that affectionately? Funny, I don’t recall you ever calling her that in front of
others.”

Chapter 430
Maggie had already said what needed to be said.
She had no intention of dragging it out.
Turning to Johnny, she said, “Let’s go.”
Looking into her eyes, Logan was struck by how cold and detached they were.
In that moment, he finally realized–she truly no longer saw him as her father.
Without another word, Maggie turned and walked upstairs, not once looking back.
Logan barely had the chance to say anything the entire time
And with Johnny there, it wasn’t the right time to try persuading her anyway.
He could only watch as she walked away.
Once inside the elevator, Johnny gave a cold laugh.
“After everything they’ve done to you, he still has the nerve to come talk about father–daughter affection? The shamelessness is really something.”
Maggie smiled faintly. “You get used to it.”
Elsewhere.
After Logan returned home, the Brown and Green families immediately asked how his meeting with Maggie had
gone.
How could Logan not understand the meaning behind Maggie’s words?
He shook his head. “She’s not listening.”
Old Madam Brown frowned.
Maggie had been right–Logan had gone to her to prevent her from targeting their company again and costing them important projects.
Sophia let out a cold snort.
“This time was a fluke. She managed to steal it once, but does she really think she can pull this off every time? She’s not that capable.
