Harry hurried after them, but he was still a step too late. By the time he reached the elevator entrance, Maggie had already taken the elevator down.

Meanwhile, Franklin was chatting with someone when his phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, he answered the

call.

After a while, he hung up, and Julia walked over to him.

“Whose call was that? You seem pretty happy.”

“A college classmate. He happens to be on a business trip here in D city recently. We haven’t seen each other for a long time, and he wants to grab dinner together. I happen to be free, so I agreed.” After speaking, Franklin asked, “Wanna come along?”

Julia had met Franklin after he had already graduated. Though she had occasionally seen a few of his college classmates in social situations, those people seemed only acquaintances at best. The classmate calling now seemed closer to Franklin.

She nodded, “Sure.”

Franklin chatted with others a bit longer. When it was about time, he and Julia headed to the restaurant.

Franklin’s classmate was Japanese, named Leo Edwards, and quite good–looking.

He arrived earlier, and upon seeing them, he stood up to greet them. Then, with a broken but earnest English smile he asked Franklin,

“Is this… your girlfriend?”

Afterwards, he complimented, “Very beautiful. You two suit each other.”

Franklin introduced Julia to him.

Leo curiously asked where they had met.

Julia smiled and said,

“In Country A, I had just finished class…”

After hearing this, Leo exclaimed, “A talented woman! Franklin, your taste hasn’t changed. I heard the girl you liked before was also a university early graduate – another extremely outstanding woman. I heard you got married when she hadn’t even graduated yet…”

Julia’s smile faded a little.

Franklin’s expression also changed slightly.

He said.

“Edwards, you misunderstood. The girl you saw back then wasn’t my girlfriend.”

“Not your girlfriend?” Leo looked puzzled. “Is that so? I only net that girl once. I happened to return to the country on business, so I didn’t pay much attention to your affairs. Guess I got it wrong.”

Franklin changed the subject,

“What do you want to eat?”

Leo was quite outgoing and immediately turned to Julia, asking what kind of work she was doing now.

Julia answered,

“I’m working on autonomous driving cars.”

“Wow, an engineer? That’s impressive.”

Julia smiled modestly, responding honestly,

“I’m not that impressive. This company was actually started by Franklin first, and later…”

She explained the whole story.
