Chapter 349
After the secretary left, Julia’s mood grew heavier by the minute.

Technology was the foundation of any company’s development.
Now that the Jamison Group had stolen the spotlight, if Wilson Tech wanted to stay relevant in the autonomous vehicle market, it would need to achieve a new technological breakthrough–and fast.
But that kind of breakthrough was incredibly difficult.
So far, she had already invested six to seven hundred million yuan into Wilson Tech.
And now, with the disruption caused by the Jamison Group, Wilson Tech’s future was murky at best. If she kept investing, and the company failed to achieve influential technological advances, it would be the same as burning through one or two billion yuan for nothing.
But to give up now… she couldn’t bring herself to do it.
So, should she move forward–or pull back?
At that thought, her mind turned to Franklin.
But even he probably couldn’t predict whether the company could achieve a meaningful breakthrough in the future.
So even if she asked him, it wasn’t likely he could give her a clear answer.
Julia sat in deep thought for a long while, only snapping out of it when her secretary knocked again and reentered
the office.
It was already midday.
The secretary asked, “Miss Brown, would you like me to arrange lunch for you?”
Julia glanced at her phone but didn’t respond.
She believed that Franklin was even more aware than she was of the blow the Jamison Group had dealt to Wilson
Tech.
And knowing him, he must have already anticipated how people like Mr. Zack and President Wang would now view the company.
Right now was when she needed him the most.
But ever since dinner with Mr. Zack last night, he hadn’t reached out to her–not even once.
Long Time
Chapter 349
Her thoughts drifted to the way Franklin had looked at Maggie on stage during the press conference, eyes completely locked in, like he’d forgotten she even existed.
Her chest tightened, like someone had squeezed her heart hard.
So, just like her, he hadn’t been able to fully recover from the impact Maggie had made yesterday–had he?
Maggie had been busy for most of the day. Around five in the afternoon, her phone rang.
It was a call from Isabella.
She glanced at the screen, then answered. “Isabella, what’s up?”
“Mom, our school’s about to start summer break! There’s a parent–teacher conference tomorrow. Can you
me?”

Maggie paused–she hadn’t been involved in these things for a long time.

“Summer break already?”
“Yup!”
Coming back to herself, Maggie asked calmly, “Your dad’s not free?”
The Jamison Group press conference had likely sent Julia into full crisis mode, so Franklin probably didn’t have time for a parent meeting.
“Daddy is free,” Isabella pouted. “But I want you to come with me. Please, Mommy? Just come in the morning, okay?”
Maggie relented. “Alright. Got it.”
Isabella cheered. “Yay!”
“I still have work to finish–talk later. See you
“Okay! See you tomorrow, Mommy!”
tomorrow.”
The next day.
Maggie drove to Isabella’s school in the morning. When the little girl spotted her, she ran into her arms.
“Mommy!”
