Chapter 359
When Isabella learned that Franklin had specially rushed back from abroad just to surprise her, she finally cheered
Clutching her phone, she excitedly ran downstairs.
Maggie paused for two seconds, then followed Isabella down and informed the security guard to let Franklin’s car into the courtyard.
As Franklin’s car drove into the Miller family yard, Isabella ran out the door, excitedly throwing herself into Franklin’s arms as he stepped out of the car.
Today was her birthday, but Franklin hadn’t called once, and Maggie had been busy all day outside. She felt that neither of them really cared about her, and she was both wronged and sad.
That’s why she had been unhappy all day.
Now seeing Franklin come back especially for her birthday and feeling his care, Isabella’s pent–up hurt welled up again, and her eyes immediately welled with tears.
Seeing Isabella collapse into his arms, Franklin reached out to stroke her hair.
He crouched down to hug her and only then noticed that Isabella had been crying.
His hand paused, eyes flickering with surprise.
But he quickly understood that besides him not calling Isabella all day, Maggie must have done something that made Isabella feel hurt and wronged, which was why Isabella couldn’t hold back tears when she saw him return.
Thinking this, he glanced up at Maggie standing not far away, who hadn’t come closer.
Maggie met his gaze silently.
Seeing Isabella cry, she understood Isabella felt neglected and wronged, but she said nothing and just stood there
watching.
Franklin saw Maggie’s silence and lack of response to Isabella’s tears and didn’t sa
He quickly withdrew his gaze and wiped Isabella’s tears, saying,
thing either.
“Daddy didn’t call to wish you a happy birthday right away, and didn’t come back earlier either. Daddy’s at fault. Daddy’s sorry.”
Isabella’s feelings of hurt weren’t entirely because of Franklin.

But now that she had someone to lean on and comfort her, the more Franklin spoke, the more wronged Isabella felt, and she cried louder and louder.
Franklin didn’t stop her crying but simply held her and gently patted her back, silently comforting her.
After a while, Isabella’s tears eased, her mood slowly lifted, and the sobbing weakened and finally stopped.
Seeing she had stopped crying, Franklin let go of her and handed her the gift he had prepared.
Isabella happily took the gift, wiped her tears, and said,
“Thank you, Daddy.”
Father and daughter chatted there for a while, while Maggie remained standing quietly, not approaching
After a bit, Franklin asked Isabella,
“There’s still about an hour until midnight. Is there anything else you want to do?”
Isabella tilted her head and thought for a moment, then shook her head,
“No.”
Franklin glanced at Maggie and then asked,
“So later, do you want to go back with Daddy or stay here with Mom?”
Isabella paused, then looked at Maggie.
Maggie didn’t make a sound, quietly waiting for her to decide.
Isabella knew Maggie no longer always put her first like before, but when Isabella made requests, Maggie still tried her best to meet them.
In other words, Maggie still cared about her.
Thinking this, Isabella walked over and held Maggie’s hand, then told Franklin,
“I want to stay here with Mom.”
Franklin didn’t object and looked at Maggie.
Isabella’s birthday hadn’t really been celebrated yet.
What she just said was her true birthday wish.
She wanted to stay at the Miller family tonight and be with her mom. He couldn’t say no.
