Chapter 5
In Country A. Isabella had developed a habit of calling Julia first thing every morning. This day, as usual, she called Julia immediately after waking up
But before they could talk much, she burst into tears with a “Boohoo~.” Because Julia had given her terrible news. “Aunt Julie is going back home!”
Heartbroken, Isabella immediately called Franklin after talking with Julia: “Dad, did you know
about this?”
In the office, Franklin flipped through documents: “Yes.”
“When did you find out?”
“A while ago.”
“You… Dad, you’re so mean…” Isabella hugged her pink pig plushie, crying non–stop: “Why didn’t you tell me? I can’t bear to part with Aunt Julie. If she’s not here, I don’t want to study here either. I want to go home, Boohoo~”
Franklin replied coolly: “It’s being handled.”
Isabella didn’t understand: “W–what do you mean?”
“We’re going back home next week.”
Maggie jumped up from her bed: “Really?!”
“Mm.”
“Then why didn’t Aunt Julie tell me earlier?”
“The matter just got settled. Haven’t told her yet.”
Isabella was overjoyed: “Dad, don’t tell Aunt Julie about this yet. Can we give her a surprise when we get back?!”
“Alright.”

Chapter 5
“Dad, you’re the best! I love you so much!”
After hanging up, Isabella was still ecstatic, singing and dancing on her bed.
A moment later, she suddenly thought of Maggie. These past few days, she had been in such a good mood because mom hadn’t called.
Actually, to avoid talking with mom, she had deliberately left early and either kept her phone far away or turned it off after school.
After two days, worried that mom would get angry if she found out, she stopped doing this.
But surprisingly, mom hadn’t called her at all in the following days.
At first, she thought mom had discovered her deliberately missing the calls.
But then she reasoned that, based on past experience, if mom knew she had done something wrong, she would have immediately made her correct it rather than angrily refusing to call.
–
After all, she was the most important person in mom’s heart, mom loved her the most she didn’t believe mom would really stop calling just because she was angry!
Thinking of this, Isabella suddenly missed Maggie a little. This was the first time in many days that she had thought of her.
She couldn’t help but call her.
But just as she dialed, she suddenly realized that although she would see Aunt Julie soon after returning home, knowing her mother’s nature, mom would definitely try everything to prevent her from seeing Aunt Julie.
She would no longer be able to see Aunt Julie whenever she wanted like she could here. This thought immediately soured her mood.
It was early morning in Country B. Maggie was already asleep. She was awakened by Isabella’s call.
When she saw it was from her daughter and was about to answer, Isabella angrily hung up.
Although Maggie had specified in the divorce agreement to Franklin that she was giving up custody of Isabella, she was still her daughter.
