From Best Friend To Fiancé (Savannah and Roman) novel Chapter 110

**TITLE: Dreams Folding Into Broken Time**
**Chapter 71: I Hate You**

His words slithered down my spine like a serpent, each syllable wrapping itself around my nerves, igniting a deep-seated unease within me.

“I hate seeing you with that guy.” Dean’s voice trembled, a mixture of raw emotion and desperation, yet beneath it lay an ugly undercurrent that sent chills through me. He leaned heavily against my chest, his cheek brushing against me as if he were a restless child seeking solace. “You win, Savannah. End this charade with him. Please, Sav. Just… please.”

The acrid stench of whiskey enveloped me, thick and suffocating. Each word he uttered seemed to carry that same foul odor, invading my senses and clinging to the back of my throat like a bitter aftertaste. My hand quivered at my side, instinctively reaching for my phone as it buzzed insistently, but Dean’s hand was already there. He gripped it tightly, his knuckles going white, challenging me to pry it away from him.

“Please, Sav,” he murmured once more, his lips brushing against my skin with a tremor that made my skin crawl. “I know you still want me.”

A violent jolt surged through my body, akin to an electric shock coursing through my veins. I twisted sharply, pushing his face away with all my might. Disgust roiled within me, compelling me to claw at my skin until his touch was nothing but a distant memory. “Stop that!”

But he was quicker.

Before I could fully turn away, his mouth crashed against mine, his lips pressing down with a force that was suffocating and bruising, cutting off my breath. What he might have perceived as passion felt to me like an invasion, a theft of my autonomy. My chest burned, my lungs screamed in protest, and every instinct screamed for me to fight back.

The urge to retch surged within me, sharp and acidic. I would have kneed him hard if not for the fact that his thigh had conveniently wedged itself between mine, pinning me in place. He was aware of what he was doing, trapping me, cutting off any chance of escape, forcing me to remain still.

“Kiss me back, Sav,” he whispered against my mouth, his breath hot and laced with the stench of alcohol. “You don’t have to fight it. You used to want me.”

I jerked my head to the side, his lips scraping across my cheek instead. “Get away from me!” My voice cracked, shrill and desperate. “I’d rather kiss slugs!”

Summoning every ounce of strength I possessed, I shoved him backward with both palms. His balance wavered just enough for me to act. My hand flew before I could even think, connecting with his face in a sharp, ringing slap. I followed it with another before he could recover from the first.

The sound echoed off the tiled walls like a gunshot.

His head snapped to the side, a red mark blooming across his cheek almost instantly.

“Are you out of your mind?!” My voice vibrated with fury, each word laced with disbelief. “I’m engaged! And you’re married, you fool!” I scrubbed the back of my hand over my lips, the sting a reminder of his unwelcome touch.

**Chapter 110**

His laughter was unhinged, a sound that sent shivers down my spine. “It doesn’t matter. None of that bullshit matters! The heart wants who it fucking wants, Sav!” His words poured out like the ramblings of a madman, desperation coloring his tone.

“No.” My voice sliced through the air like a blade, sharp and unyielding. “You don’t get to want me. Not after everything you’ve done. Not anymore.”
