Sylas stood in silence for a long while, trying to organize his thoughts. He knew that the ttle girl had heard all of this, but her reaction was still much the same. She seemed to be processing things much the same way he was.
it was the scent of blood that finally awakened Sylas from his thoughts. The King Serpent had an enormous hole in its body, and after being forced into subservience by Sylas, it wasn't given the chance to heal itself.
Now, its life was fading away and it seemed like it might die any moment now.
“You are a clone from what I can tell. Where is your original body?" Sylas asked.
“I have no way of knowing that, master."
“Is it alive?"
“I... believe so. But if I am still alive now, I hope master understands that it has been many millennia since this version of myself was trapped within these walls. Master would have had no chance of defeating the me of back then, and you would certainly not have the slightest chance now."
Sylas was neither offended nor did he refute.
This was a mere clone, and an F-tier version of it at that, but it was capable of boosting its strength to this extent. If not for his Perfect Spark Mastery and the battlefield they were on, Sylas wouldn't have stood a chance, let alone the fact this World Serpent's body was originally of the D-tier.
It would be foolish to even try. This World Serpent was likely the equivalent of an S- Grade Race genius. If not for the fact it was a clone, it was impossible for Sylas to defeat it even if it had been in the F-tier.
"How much more powerful was your main body at the F-tier than this one is?" Sylas asked.
Pride flickered in the World Serpent's eyes.
"My stats are the same, master. My power, though, is a completely different matter. I believe if it was my true body here as an infant of the F-tier, master would be unable to even approach me."
“Even in an F-Grade world like this one?" Sylas asked.
“I think master already knows the answer to that question.”
Sylas didn't ask questions he knew the answer to, he wasn't a child, nor did he need his ego stroked by outsiders. He asked because he wanted a clearer image of the memories in the World Serpent's mind, and it was clear to understand at that point.
The Seeing Thorn was feared for its ability to devour worlds, covering it over hundreds, to even thousands of years and making it its own.
A World Serpent was thousands of times more dangerous than a Seeing Thorn could ever hope to be.
A baby World Serpent could already refine an entire world unto itself. That was one even including C and B-Grade Runes—something Sylas couldn't even fathom doing right now. In fact, this was likely the reason the King Serpent's main body had been punished in this way in the first place. It had likely gained a Demerit for devouring worlds it shouldn't have, ending up with a clone here as recompense.
“I understand. You can be on your way now."
