Allison replied, "Sure thing. I'm just about to head out. How about we meet at the café near my office?"

"Sounds like a plan."

Allison gave him the address and said, "Meet you there at 6:30."

"Alright, Ms. Allison."

After hanging up, Watson knocked and stepped into her office. "Allison, I've been mulling over what my aunt said yesterday, and I think I owe you an apology on her behalf."

Allison raised an eyebrow. "No worries, I knew she was joking around. Didn't bother me."

"How about this?" Watson adjusted his glasses. "Let me take you out for dinner to make up for it."

Allison chuckled. "Really, there's no need. Let's not make it a big deal."

Watson glanced at her, paused, and then said, "Okay then."

"Oh, by the way," Allison said, handing over two thick manila folders. "We got a couple of new cases today. These are right up your alley."

The investigator, whose last name was Johnson, went by Ellory.

"Hey, Ms. Allison."

After exchanging greetings, Ellory rummaged through his backpack.

"Here's what I've got—photos of Shawn and Lillian over the past few days." He handed over a manila envelope.

Allison opened it and flipped through the photos. Seeing the images of Lillian and Shawn together, she smirked. "Just as I thought."

"And here's the recording from their meeting last night." Ellory took out his phone. "I’ll send it to you."

After receiving the audio file, Allison put on her headphones and hit play.
