Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 328

Allison lay in bed, wide awake. Sleep just wouldn't come. That audio clip played on a loop in her mind, and it was driving her nuts. The mastermind behind Lillian turned out to be Chris.

As the adopted daughter of the Fisher family, Allison wasn't quite sure how deep Lillian's knowledge of the family's secrets went. She hadn't thought to ask Joshua if Lillian held any position at Fisher Corporation before. If Lillian was involved and leaked sensitive business info to Chris, it could spell trouble for the company.

Plus, Chris had a serious vendetta against the Fisher family. Everything he'd done was to get back at Joshua. Given Lillian's feelings for Joshua, Allison couldn't figure out why she'd side with Chris. Maybe Chris had made her some kind of promise?

These thoughts kept Allison tossing and turning until dawn's first light finally allowed her some rest.

...

When she eventually woke up, it was already afternoon. Allison sat up and checked her phone—2:30 PM. She ran a hand through her hair in frustration and let out a resigned sigh.

Yesterday at the café, a private investigator had handed her some photos and later emailed her digital copies. After she got herself together, she forwarded the digital evidence to Joshua's email.

Just then, her computer pinged with a new email. It was a response from Joshua. He confirmed they'd uncovered Lillian's close ties with Shawn and verified she was working for Chris.

Allison exhaled in relief. Good, they were onto it. She started typing a lengthy reply but paused before hitting send. How Joshua chose to handle Lillian was up to him. Lillian was the Fisher family’s adopted daughter, Joshua’s sister, and more importantly, she had unspoken feelings for Joshua.

Since Joshua had figured everything out, he must also know about Lillian’s feelings. Would he be lenient with her? After all, Lillian had been his sister for more than a decade. Would a few tears from her sway him?
