Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 343

After hearing the news, Joshua asked, "So? What's your point?"

Matthew, sounding a bit sympathetic, replied, "Joshua, it looks like they're already meeting the parents. Isn't this moving a bit too fast? You and Allison just broke up in January, and now, only three months later, she's meeting Watson's family..."

Before Matthew could finish, Joshua couldn't take it anymore and hung up.

Standing by the large window of his villa, Joshua's brow was furrowed, his chiseled features marked by a deep sadness.

No, this can't keep going like this.

He needed to win Allie back.

...

When Allison arrived at the Owens' place, the living room lights were still on.

Javier was sitting on the couch, watching some financial news.

Seeing her walk in, Javier's expression softened, "You're back."

"Yeah." Allison settled onto another sofa. "I came to check on Lizzy. Is she asleep?"

"She just went to bed," Javier answered. "Have you eaten?"

Allison nodded, "I have."

"How's Lizzy doing lately?" Allison asked.

"Much better."

"That's great," Allison said. "I’ve got some free time tomorrow, so I'll come by to keep her company."

Javier's eyes showed his appreciation, "Good."

“Allie, you’ve been through so much,” Javier said, his eyes full of concern. “When you were taken to America...”

It had been a while since father and daughter had sat down for a proper chat. After everything they'd been through, the tension between Allison and her father had eased up a lot.

Allison replied, "Pretty well."

Javier gave her a warm smile, "Allie has grown up."

Allison pressed her lips together, staying silent.

"Do you still have reservations about joining your father's company?" Javier gently asked. “Your aunt and I would like to transfer some shares to you. You wouldn’t have to worry about managing the risks. Just enjoy the dividends.”

"Sure."

Javier was a bit surprised, not expecting Allison to agree so easily this time.

"Dad..." Allison looked up at Javier, "I was immature before, but now I want us to be a happy and harmonious family."

"Yes, yes," Javier's eyes glistened with tears, and he murmured, "Our family, happy and harmonious."
