Linda jumped in, “Allie, I’m making dinner tonight. Why don’t you come home and let me spoil you a little?”

Allison nodded. “That sounds wonderful. Thank you, Aunt Linda.”

Javier grinned, “Your aunt even got you a gift.”

Linda shot him a playful glare. “Javier! You ruined the surprise!”

He just laughed. “She still doesn’t know what it is, so it’s still a surprise, right?”

Allison grinned at Linda. “It’s okay, Aunt Linda. Dad’s right—if I don’t know what the gift is, it still counts as a surprise.”

“Allie, I got something for you too.” Olivia handed her a gift bag. “Picked it up for you in Switzerland. Want to see?”

Allison recognized the logo—one of those luxury Swiss watch brands.

“Thank you,” she said, her smile genuine.

She opened the box inside and found a beautiful white ladies’ watch.

A real smile bloomed on Allison’s lips. “It’s gorgeous, Olivia. Thank you.”

“Oh, don’t thank me. Here, let me put it on for you.”

“Okay.”

Olivia fastened the watch around Allison’s wrist, nodding with satisfaction. “Looks perfect on you.”
