Chapter 447

Thalia’s POV

Three months after my grandfather’s funeral, I stood in the Parker Group office, watching Elizabeth’s face drain of color as she flipped through the files I’d tossed onto her desk.

“You still don’t get it, do you?” I couldn’t help but smile.

“My brother’s been awake this whole time.”

Her fingers tightened on the papers, knuckles turning white.

These past three months, while you thought you had everything under control,” I continued, “Blake was actually recovering and teaching me how to run this company.”

I tapped the file. “Did you really think you could sell our assets for pennies without anyone noticing?”

Elizabeth frantically flipped through the pages. The first section detailed her illegal sales of company assets. The second contained agreements where she’d secretly sold off subsidiaries. The third showed the equity structure of a company named Sincerity Gems, which had taken over all the assets resold by Elizabeth. And its major shareholder was Blake.

“This can’t be…” she mumbled, papers slipping from her trembling hands.

Her phone rang. She answered automatically, still staring at the scattered documents.

“Elizabeth!” Her husband’s voice blared through the speaker. “Everything’s falling apart! Every partner has canceled their contracts! No one will even take my calls!”

I smirked. Taking down a small company like his would be child’s play for Blake.

‘I’m about to go bankrupt!” he continued. “How much money do you have left?”

Elizabeth hung up without responding.

Seconds later, her phone rang again. This time, it was Olivia.

“Mom, I’m in serious trouble!” Her daughter sounded frantic.

“What now?” Elizabeth asked weakly.

“That girl we bullied a. few days ago? Someone just told me she’s Henry Hartford’s adopted sister! He’s flying back today to deal with us!”

Elizabeth’s face went even paler.

Can you arrange a private jet? I need to leave the country now!” Olivia begged.

The phone slipped from Elizabeth’s hand, clattering onto the desk.

Before she could recover, a sharp knock came at the door. Two police officers entered, badges raised.

‘Elizabeth Parker? You’ve been reported for financial crimes. You’ll need to come with us.”

The handcuffs closed around her wrists with a decisive click. As they led her toward the door, she paused beside me.

“Where’s Blake? I need to see him.”

I leaned close. “Not happening. Blake and Audrey flew to Sydney this morning.”

Her eyes widened as I continued, ‘I’m running Parker Group now.”

I whispered in her ear, “Blake told me we’re not blood related, so I don’t have to show you any mercy.”

I pulled back. “Don’t worry, I’m sure you, your husband, and Olivia will have a lovely family reunion – in prison.”

Elizabeth’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed.

After they carried her unconscious form away, I ordered the assistants to clean the office and throw out anything belonging to Elizabeth’s family.

I snapped a photo of the empty office and texted Blake: [Got your seat warm. Come back soon.]

Blake’s POV

I checked Thalia’s message, feeling a surge of pride. Three months ago, she could barely spell ‘business.” Now she was running Parker Group.

Next to me, Audrey slept peacefully, her chest rising and falling with each breath.

From that village to a Sydney-bound plane. Who would’ve thought?

After my grandfather died, when grief nearly broke me, Audrey had been my anchor. She’d pushed my rehab harder than any doctor recommended. In three months, I’d gone from wheelchair to walking with minimal support.

Learning I was the son of Leo and Leonora Sterling that Jeffrey and Eleanor Parker were actually my aunt and uncle – had finally made sense of my life.

This trip had multiple purposes: reuniting Audrey with Adrian, Emma, and Snow; meeting my biological mother’s family; and investigating the shipwreck that killed my father. After discovering Elizabeth’s involvement in my accidents, I questioned whether the Australian Parkers were really behind the disaster.

Audrey stirred, pushing up her sleep mask.

“Why aren’t you resting?” she asked, voice husky from sleep.

Audrey’s POV

I felt Blake watching me before I even removed my eye mask. He’d been up all night helping Thalia, yet here he was staring at me instead of resting.

“You nervous?” I asked, studying his face.

“A little,” he admitted, eyes fixed on mine.

“Your adoptive parents are good people,” I said. “You don’t – ”

‘I’m not worried about meeting them,” he cut me off.

‘I’m nervous about you.”
