Chapter14

Ziana’s POV

I sit there fighting the damn chains, trying to spot them for any weakness. I hear movement outside of the door and huff, sitting down on the big chair. The door opens, revealing Killian holding a tray of food.

He comes in and sets the tray on the dresser, looking at me sadly. Zane walks in behind him, staring at me longingly.

“It seems that we are both your mates.” Killian says, eyeing me. I roll my eyes and glare at them.

“Neither of you are. Now please unchain me.” I say lifting up my wrists. Killian sighs, motioning toward Zane. Zane comes and pulls out different cuffs, replacing the pure silver ones on my wrists with ones that don’t burn, but still bind gifts and the wolf. I hold my breath, thanking the goddess that the scars around my wrists can’t be seen.

“What the f*ck is wrong with you two?” I ask, pulling on the chains as they take a seat on the edge of the bed. I glance at the two of them, one set of dark pink eyes and one golden.

“We have decided that in order for you to be released you will have to prove to us that you will not run away.” Killian says and I scoff, folding my arms.

“So you want me to have Stockholm syndrome.” I state.

“N. No. We don’t want you to leave us. Killian told me that you tried running away before. It’s the only way to make sure you don’t run.” Zane says, sounding as if he is trying to convince himself more than me.

“There is no way to convince you I won’t leave if you don’t let me go.” I say and they shake their heads at me. I grunt and stare hard at them, remembering something that I saw on Warrick’s desk.

“Is it really because you don’t want me to leave or the fact that you don’t want your fiance to see me here? You selected a chosen mate. Why don’t you just reject me and get it over with?” I try taunting Killian and he growls.

“I’m canceling the ceremony.” He states like it is that easy. “I have found my mate. I lost hope, that is the only reason for the engagement. But now that I have found you, that is all that matters. YOU are all that matters.” He declares. I scowl. Well that backfired.

“F*CK! Why can’t you understand I don’t want you! I don’t want either of you and I never will!” I yell and they flinch.

“You don’t know us. How do you know you won’t ever want us?” Killian asks, angrily.

“You don’t know me. How can you be so sure you actually want me?” I counter and he huffs.

“The goddess wouldn’t have blessed us with you if you weren’t meant for us. You’re our other half.” Zane says confidently.

“No. No. NO! I can’t do this. Just get out.” I say, starting to freak out a little. They just stare at me. Killian is angry while Zane seems hurt. ” SAID GET OUT! LDON’T WANT TO SEE YOU!” I scream and they flinch. Finally they get up and hesitantly walk out. “Don’t come back until you are ready to take these damn chains off.” I order, shaking my hands and rattling the chains to make a point.

I sit there steaming for hours, trying every witch way to get out of these stupid chains. They haven’t come back and I am at least grateful for that. I don’t want to see either of them, they remind me too much of what I

have done. What I don’t deserve.

I also need to get out of here before my damn nightmare finds me and hurts the pack. Goddess I don’t know what he would do if he found out about me finding my mates.

Mates. I never expected to find one let alone two. Two is very rare between the same species. It’s normal to have multiple of different species like a bear and a wolf mated to a witch.

Two mates who, if they ever find out what I have done, will hate me at the very least, or kill me.

A knock sounds at the door, creaking open after a few seconds. I look up and see a guy about my age poke

his head in. His dark pink eyes meet mine.

“Can I come in?” He asks and I shrug. He opens the door and drags in a trolley loaded with food, games, books, notebooks, pens, markers, a bunch of stuff.

“I’m guessing you aren’t here to free me?” I ask and he smiles sadly. I know him, he looks just like her. His dirty blonde hair is cut short, with slight curls on the top. His face is longer with fuller lips, goddess he is a mini her and it is getting really hard not to let it pull me back to those memories.

“Sorry, I.. Can’t.” He says looking down at the cart. I huff. He looks at me and smiles, causing my heart to

hurt.

“Goddess. PLEASE don’t tell me I’m your mate too.” I say and he laughs.

“No. I don’t think my brother would be too happy about that.” He says, grabbing a plate and sitting on the two person chair with me. I look over to see that he has a salad. It looks delicious: steak, corn, tomato, cucumber, pepper, avocado, salsa. My stomach growls at the smell of it and he laughs. He hands me the salad, then goes and grabs a different one. He takes a bite and smiles at me with a mouth full of food.

“I’m Kai by the way.” He says and I smile slightly.

“Ziana.” I answered, taking a bite of the salad he gave me. The flavor exploded in my mouth, my eyes
