Chapter 16
Evangelina’s POV
As I reach the training field the wind starts to pick up and lightning starts. Only a select few
know that I have multiple gifts. I have learned to perfect them all, except the one I don’t have,
portaling.
The goddess gave me the knowledge though, to be able to guide and train a transporter. I
have had years to learn control, but when it comes to abuse especially with younger kids, I
start to lose it.
Thunder cracks around me when I see Linc running up with warriors in tow. He throws the
silver cuffs to me and I quickly catch them and put them on. The wind and lightning quickly
disappear and this has happened enough for Linc to know what to do. He quickly comes after
me and we begin to spar. Five other warriors join in and don’t hold back, neither do I.
Each time a warrior drops another replaces them. After 15 minutes of bloody sparing, my right
hand is broken and my jaw and shoulder are dislocated. The blood lust is gone and I look
around to see 8 warriors laying on the ground either out cold or groaning. I also see Marie
standing next to the girls. I was so blinded by the anger that I didn’t even realize that they were
there to witness my mess. I look down at my hand and try to move it when a fae healer runs
up to me and looks at me with concern.
“I am fine. Help the others.” I say and she looks at me for a second and nods, then goes to the
others. I heave a sigh of relief when I take the silver bracelets off. The burns on my wrists are
nothing compared to the soreness of my jaw. I quickly relocate my jaw with a grunt of pain,
then my shoulder. When I open my eyes I see the girls, Marie, Henry, and Linc standing in front
of me. When did Henry get here? I have no clue. He must have come when his trainer, one of
my head warriors, did.
Marie, Linc, and Nali hold looks of concern, while Henry looks at me in awe and bewilderment.
Tali has tears in her eyes and looks down toward my hand.
“I am sorry.” She whispers. I reach out and lift her chin gently so that she is looking me in the
eyes.
“You have no need to apologize.” I say in reassurance.
“But..” She starts, but I interrupt.
“Tali, this is not your fault. I have a hard time controlling my anger when it comes to certain

things and I should have been ready to try and control that.” I say and she looks around to the
other warriors then Linc’s bloody and bruised face. “Don’t worry this isn’t the first time this has happened. They will be fine.” I say and she nods her head.
“How can you do that with those on?” She asks while pointing to the silver cuffs.
“Years of training and a high tolerance to silver.” I answer her and she nods her head.
“Are you going to train us like that?” Nali asks, hopeful.
“You have to understand that I have been training since I was old enough to walk. You will be trained, and I will personally see to it that you both know how to defend yourselves and use your gifts to assist in combat, but to do what I just did will take a long time for you to do.” I
say to them, they nod their heads.
Another healer comes up and helps Linc then comes to me. I feel his warm magic spread
through me and when he is done I feel as good as new. Better than before actually. Fae magic
is really something else.
“Henry, your trainer is more than okay since the healer got him. You can go with him and we will see you at lunch.” I say and he bows his head slightly before turning around to spot his
trainer at the edge of the field and walking over to him.
“You good?” Linc asks me.
“Yes I am good. Thank you.” I say and he nods his head.
“Any time.” He says with a smile and I smile back at him. He nudges me with his shoulder. “I was hoping that after you kicked my a*s in training this morning, I would have the day off from any other whoopings, but I guess it is too much to hope for.” He says and I laugh.
“I didn’t even touch you this morning to kick your a*s.” i rebuttal.
“Yeah, but you made me and Marie spar. Giving her pointers on how to take me down. That’s
not fair.” He says with a pout.
“Well she was struggling.” I say and he scoffs.
“Please. She was doing just fine without your pointers. You just wanted to indirectly have a
hand in putting me on my as*.” He says and I smirk.
“I will not confirm or deny that statement.” I say and he rolls his eyes.
“Of course you won’t.” He says and looks back when his name is called. “Duty calls. Try not to have too much fun without me.” He winks and jogs over to the woman calling his name.

“Is that his mate?” Nali asks with her brows scrunched, glaring at the woman.

“No, just an acquaintance.” I answer and see her visibly relax. Veena chuckles in my head.
