Chapter 31
Chapter 31
Evangelina’s POV
As we reach the inside of the territory, where there are more people, everybody stops and stares at us. Many of them have looks of disgust and hate on their faces. Others have looks of concern and are frightened. I fight real hard not to roll my eyes, but am unsuccessful when I hear people whisper.
If they whisper, it is some variation of they need to be killed. ‘They‘ being the four rogues walking in town with
their gamma and princesses. It probably doesn’t help that I have dried blood that is coating my face, and well everything else. I tried wiping it off, but if my hands are any indication, the blood didn’t want to come off. The only other person who got blood on them was Dalya, that was because she was going stabby stabby on the rogues and got some on her. She has a few dots speckled across her face, and some bigger splashes on her outfit and arms. With the outfit you can’t see the blood since she is wearing black.
I am so lost in my thoughts that I don’t realize we are close to the castle until Henry shifts and throws on some shorts. He is now standing right before the steps of the castle. I take note that it looks the exact same as it did before. Huge and foreboding, well at least for me, it would actually be quite beautiful if it didn’t mean that me, Linc and Marie might be killed on the spot when we enter.
“King Warrick knows that you are here and is waiting in the throne room. Because of the delicate situation it is just him and that area of the castle is cleared.” Henry says and looks around. There are four guards stationed on the outside steps of the castle, probably in case we attack. All of them are shooting daggers at
“Does he know any details regarding the situation?” I ask Henry and he shakes his head.
“No.” He answers back, his eyes penetrating mine, telling me that Warrick knows it’s me. As if Warrick’s wolf. wouldn’t tell him that. Veena has been whining and pacing my head since we reached the border of the pack
lands.
I nod my head to Henry and he understands what I am saying, because he turns and starts walking up the castle stairs. We all follow, me and Daylia behind Henry and the girls, Linc and Marie behind us. I can feel the tension already and it is only going to get worse.
As soon as we walk through the big double doors Veena stops pacing and cautiously watches through my eyes. I can feel her worry and I try my best to reassure her that everything will be okay.
Heny leads us to another set of doors and opens them, letting me walk through first followed by the rest of us. I keep my eyes down, and walk toward what I assume is the center of the room. I tune in and only hear one heartbeat besides our own and know that Henry wasn’t lying about it just being Warrick here. Once I reach what I think is a safe distance/l look up and see Warrick watching me with a heated glare. My heart begins to race as I make eye contact with him. The bond that was barely there sparks to life and calls to him. I see him visibly flinch, telling me that he feels it too and he growls loudly.
“What is the meaning of this?!” He yells. His nostrils flare as he takes in the rest of the people in the room. He
e and orange eyes stalks down the few stairs that led to his throne and stops in front of me. His beautifu
are on fire with rage and he reaches out and grabs my throat.
“You DARE to enter my lands again rogue?! What is your purpose in taking the girls again?!” He yells, spittle landing on my face in his rage.

“Brother stop!” Tall yells from the side of me and he drops his hold from my neck. That is going to leave. bruise. It hurts, but I will not show him weakness. I stand tall and look into his eyes, which are now focuSSO on Tall. Tali stands to my left, while Nall is on my right, their mates next to them. I can feel Henry and Daiva behind me.
“You dare stand against me? Rogues are meant to die, not to live and disrespect me in my own land. He says hateful towards Tali and I see her flinch a little, but she still stands tall.
“You will NOT speak of my mate that way.” Tali all but growls, letting her wolf’s eyes flicker for a moment before they go back to her normal dark gray ones.
“Your mate?!” Warrick asks in disbelief and looks at Marie, who is holding Tali’s hand tightly.
“Yes my mate. She has done nothing wrong.” Tall counters and I see slight surprise in Warrick’s face before it
turns back to hatred.
“You killed your tutor to be with this. This rogue.” Warrick spits, his anger flaring then turns to me. “What have you done?” He grits out and I can’t help the sass that comes out of my mouth.
“Oh yeah, because I blessed the girls with their mate bonds. Blame me since you can’t blame the goddess herself.” I spit back. He looks taken aback by my comment, but then looks towards Nali and realizes that she
is holding Linc’s hand tightly.
“You both are mated to these filthy dogs?” Warrick spits out and I growl as does the rest of the people in the room. I even heard Henry’s wolf. Warrick looks at all of us in disgust before his eyes shift from each of the
twins.
“You will reject them.” He states. And I can’t help but feel my own anger rise.
“We will do NO such thing!” Nali shouts at her brother causing him to take a step back.
“Just because you seem to think all rogues are bad, doesn’t mean that they are. For goddess sake, we spent the whole summer with them.” Nali says absently and then her eyes grow wide in the realization that she shouldn’t have said that.
“YOU WHAT?!” Warrick screams then continues. “IF YOU ACCEPT YOUR MATE BONDS YOU ARE DEAD TO THE ROYAL PACK. YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED ROGUES AND TREATED AS SUCH!” He roars and I feel everybody stiffen.
“Then so be it. The rogue pack has treated us with the kindness that every pack should have. They are NOTHING like this pack and I am grateful for it.” Tali says calmly then turns around to leave. Nali follows closely behind then they turn around at the same time.
