Chapter 7
Warrick’s POV
I needed to get out of there. Her scent was driving Viggo crazy. We have been arguing since we found her. When I walked in and saw her cleaned up and actually looking around, my breathing hitched.
Her face was healed and I could see just how beautiful she was. Her heart shaped face with naturally red, plump lips. Her cute button nose, her naturally wavy black hair was a slight mess from her sleeping, but then I caught her eyes. She has the darkest gray eyes I have ever seen, they are a couple shades off from being black. I heard a small hoarse whisper from her. Recognizing me as her mate then her eyes went completely black. I rushed to her side and stared at her worriedly for a second, wondering where she went.
She was having a vision, that much I could tell. When she came back to the present I fought the urge to grab hold of her hand.
I sigh and run a hand through my hair. Viggo is urging me to go back to her, almost fighting me for control. I can’t do this again, another mate who can destroy my kingdom.
“Go back to her!” Viggo yells at me.
“We can’t. We have to reject her.” I tell him sternly. He growls at the thought.
“Mother Moon chose her for us! You can’t reject her.” He yells.
“I understand that Viggo, but we cannot risk another mate hurting the people we love. Natalie was a rogue, and she managed to infiltrate and kill over a quarter of our pack and dad because of us accepting her with open arms. We welcomed her into the pack, took care of her, and made her our princess. That was a mistake, we cannot do that again. Mate bond or not, all rogues are vicious and manipulating.” I said with finality I hear him whimper at the mention of what happened with our last mate.
others?” He asks.
“No. I will reject her then let her go. She saved the girls, so I will give her mercy, but if I see her doing anything sketchy while here, I will kill her. I will not risk the kingdom because of a mate again.” I answer and he huffs. As I walk back to the castle I feel a presence behind me and I
stop and wait until Henry catches up.
“How are you holding up?” He asks as I start to walk when he reaches me.

“I am fine.” I lie, even though it feels like my heart is constricting around itself at the thought of rejecting her.
“You know I can tell when you are lying. What are you thinking?” He asks, giving me a pointed look, daring me to lie to him again. I sigh and run another hand over my hair which is what I do when I am stressed. I am probably messing up my braids but at this point I don’t care.
“Since she saved the girls I am going to reject her and let her leave.” I answered him truthfully. He is quiet for a minute then sighs.
“I understand why you would want to reject her, but she is your second chance. You won’t get another one.” He reminds me.
“I know what she is, Henry. But I can’t risk it again. I can’t lose the kingdom. I can take a chosen mate, like I have been talking about doing, since I still need an heir.” I say and he sighs.
“Warrick. You aren’t even going to give her a chance? She isn’t Natalie.” He says which frustrates me.
“Say I do give her a chance. Who in this kingdom will accept her after what happened with Natalie? A select few. Natalie was with us for two years before she betrayed us. She played the part so well. Everybody absolutely loved her. Nobody would trust this woman. No she is not Natalie and even if we did everything in our power to convince others she is not, the comparison will still be there. This is for the best. I won’t risk the kingdom and she won’t have to deal with that mess if I did accept her.” I justify. Henry sighs, but nods his head in understanding.
“So when will you be doing it?” He asks after a few minutes.
“I am going to bring her to the castle when the doctor’s clear her. Let her get cleaned up, give her some clothes, feed her then once she is done I will take her to my office to reject her.” I say my plan and he nods.
“Okay. By the way Jaxon has gone to the rose pack. They are having rogue trouble and he didn’t want to bother you while you were dealing with this. He should be back in a few days.” Henry informs me.
“He knows that she is my mate, so do Vick and Jason. Ensure they all know not to talk.” I say. and he nods his head, then turns to go to the warrior bunkers. I continue on my way to the castle.
When I get close I hear the laughter of the girls in the garden. I change directions and go

towards the garden in search of the noise. When I reach the opening I see the girls picking flowers with our mother and smile. They stop when mother notices me and the girls come running up to me, flowers falling behind them on their way, causing me to laugh at the sight.
“Where is she?” Nalissa asks, looking around.
“She is still resting.” I answer, knowing who she is talking about. My mate.
“Is she okay?” Talissa asks meekly, causing my mother to tear up. Out of everybody, it hit her
the hardest when Talissa stopped speaking.
“She will be. Thanks to you two.” I say and bend down to be their level. “You two understand
