Warrick’s POV

“You don’t know? So they haven’t told you?” I ask and she shrugs.

“No.” She answers and I frown.

“What about Ziana?” I ask and her eyes widen slightly.

“I have asked Linc to take care of her if anything happens to me.” She answers and Viggo growls at the

thought.

“We take care of pup. She is ours.” Viggo says, surprising me. I focus back on Evan, who is now looking at me curiously. I must have growled out loud. I ignore the look and walk towards a nearby bench, sitting down. “Can you tell me about her?” I ask and Evan scrunches her eyebrows, while taking a seat next to me. “I don’t know much, she was almost 2 when she was taken. She would be 15 going on 16 now.” She says,

“What do you remember?” I ask and she turns her head away, looking at the fountain in front of us.

“She was a good baby. Very loving and compassionate, even at that young age. She was a quick learner, except when it came to her powers. As you know, most children come into their gifts when they are around 5, but not Ziana. She got her gift of electricity when she hit a year. She’d cause the whole packhouse to lose power whenever she had her tantrums. Zavior would get so mad when she would cause the power to go out when mom was baking cookies. Then he would get over it and be the proudest dad there was.” She explains and i am in shock at the information of Ziana coming into her powers that early. Only the strongest wolves get them that early. Pride beams through me at the thought of Ziana being strong.

“Viggo has claimed her.” I blurt out and her head whips toward me.

“What?” She asks skeptically.

“He said we will take care of her if anything happens. She is ours.” I repeat what he said, and she raises an eyebrow.

“Why would he say that?” She asks and I shrug.

“Probably because you are ours and she is yours, making her ours as well.” I say and Viggo huffs in

agreement. She nods her head and looks away.

“When did you take Hadley as a chosen mate?” She asks, flooring me at the subject change.

“I met her a little over 4 years ago and took her as my chosen mate about a year ago.” I answer honestly and she nods her head as if in thought. Why?” I ask.

“The betrayal pains.” She answers as if that is all the answer I need. When I stay silent she looks must see the confusion on my face.

“The pains started a little over 4 years ago.” She explains further and it dawns on me. Goddess I hurt her every time I slept with Hadley I hurt her and the guilt that washes through me makes me gasp.

“You wanted to know if I was with anybody else.” I surmise and she nods, blushing slightly.

“Even though I wanted to reject you back then, I didn’t want to hurt you. When I met Hadley, it was like nothing else mattered except her. I almost needed her. So I took her. It took longer for me to want to make her the Luna of the pack, but as long as I had her that was all that mattered. Until you came along again and my feelings became muddled. I never wanted to hurt you,” I explain and her blush deepens a little more I cannot begin to explain how sorry I am for what I did to you. I hurt you deeply. I never wanted and there is no excuse for it. Spelled or not, it shouldn’t have happened. You are so strong and I am sorry that some of that strength comes from me hurting you.” I say, grabbing her hand. She turns to look at me and the tears in her eyes kill me. I place my other hand on her cheek and she leans into it slightly.

“I will spend the rest of my life making it up to you.” I whisper, leaning down and placing a kiss on her temple. I rest my forehead to hers and feel sparks on my cheek where she places her hand. Pulling my head back slightly, I meet her gaze.

“Thank you.” She whispers as I stare into her gray orbs. I don’t say anything and after a few moments I break

the silent stare.

“You have the most beautiful eyes.” I whisper and I can feel her skin heat under my hand. Her hand that was in mine travels to the back of my neck, leaving my hand on her thigh. I feel the pressure of her pulling me closer. I don’t fight it, just let her do as she pleases, as she pulls me closer to her. Her lips meet mine as her scent of chocolate lavender invades my brain.

I let her take the lead, not wanting to push her and she deepens the kiss, opening her mouth slightly, and I follow suit. Her tongue slips into my mouth, finding mine and I growl deep in my chest at the sparks that travel straight to my d*ck. My hand that is on her thigh moves up to her hip, while the other one travels to the back of her neck.
