"Aren't they the same thing?" Debra mused. "Anyway, I want to be with him every day. I don't want him to marry anyone else."
Juan smiled in response. As the dance ended, he politely stepped back.
"Wish you a happy engagement."
"Thank you, Mr. Nichols."
Debra looked around and quickly spotted Andrew, as she always did.
She smiled at Juan and said, "Nice talking to you. Come visit anytime. See you around."
"Sure thing." He watched her leave, suddenly feeling the trip had been worthwhile after all.
"Andrew," Debra called out, running toward him.
Suddenly, a maid bumped into her, spilling wine all over Debra's dress. The shattered glass cut her shoulder.
"Ouch," Debra gasped in pain.
A distant voice echoed in her ears, faint and unreal. 'Debra, Andrew, wake up!"
"Ms. Frazier, are you alright?" the maid stammered, frightened. "Let me help you upstairs."
"Wait." Debra grabbed her arm. "Did you hear something just now?"
"What?" The maid was confused.
